The best place to look for a long-term strategy might be where we
were before we even started. This is a long way from being a genuine
strategy but it’s a sort of building block. If we understand where we
were originally, we might have a better chance of understanding
where we want to go. “We were there, and now we’re wandering
along in that direction and it kind of makes some sense that we
might end up there.”
Here is a school photo of us.
This is the place where Neil and
I met, aged sixteen. It’s one of
those envy-inducing schools
called Charterhouse that mean
people ignore you at parties
when you’re older. This photo
has about a thousand people in
it yet coincidentally we’re standing
next to each other. We’re the
really sophisticated looking guys
circled. You can imagine that
the girls always wanted to know
us - in fact I don’t know why all
