Date Fields<br />

All date formats supported by AS/400 can be exported (*ISO, *USA, *EUR,<br />

*JIS, *MDY, *DMY, *YMD, *JUL, *YYMD).<br />

Time Fields<br />

All time formats supported by AS/400 can be exported (*ISO, *USA, *EUR,<br />

*JIS, *HMS).<br />

Date and Time Separators<br />

All valid separators are supported for date and time fields.<br />

Timestamp Fields<br />

Timestamp export fields must be 26 bytes.<br />

Restrictions for the CPYTOIMPF command<br />

The following restrictions apply to the CPYTOIMPF command:<br />

v The command restricts the correct usage for delimiters.<br />

v The data type of a database file for the to-file can be any of the following:<br />

– CHARACTER, IGC OPEN, IGC EITHER, IGC ONLY, GRAPHIC, or variable<br />

length. Its length must be capable of containing the data of the from-file,<br />

separators, and any data conversions.<br />

– The to-file and from-file cannot be the same file.<br />

– The from-file cannot be a multi-formatted logical file.<br />

v If the to-file’s record length is not long enough, an error is signaled.<br />

You can use this command on files that contain user-defined types (UDTs) and<br />

user-defined functions (UDFs). You cannot use this command on files that contain<br />

large objects (LOBs) or DataLinks (DLs).<br />

Copying data to the import file in a fixed format (CPYTOIMPF<br />

command)<br />

When you copy data to the import file in a fixed format (DTAFMT(*FIXED)), each<br />

field of the file is copied. A null indicator on the command NULLS(*YES) places<br />

either a ’Y’ or ’N’ following the field data in the to-file indicating if the field is null<br />

or not.
