You can use clrtmp to clear the /tmp directory. This is designed to simulate what
happens on other systems since the /tmp directory does not get removed during an
IPL of an AS/400.
Your user profile must have *W data authority and *OBJMGMT object authority to
the /tmp directory and *WX data authority to the root directory for clrtmp to work.
This utility is unique to AS/400.
-c Create /tmp if it does not exist.

date - Write the date and time

date [-u] [+format]
The date utility will write the date and time to standard output. By default, the
current date and time will be written.
-u Give time in universal coordinated time (UTC). The QUTCOFFSET system
value must be set correctly for date to return the correct time.
The +format operand will specify the format of the output from the date command.
Each field descriptor will be replaced in the standard output by its corresponding
value. All other characters will be copied to the output without change. The output
will always be terminated with a newline character.
You can use these field descriptors:
%a Insert abbreviated weekday name of locale.
%A Insert full weekday name of locale.
%b Insert abbreviated month name of locale.
%B Insert full month name of locale.
