You can use clrtmp to clear the /tmp directory. This is designed to simulate what<br />

happens on other systems since the /tmp directory does not get removed during an<br />

IPL of an AS/400.<br />

Your user profile must have *W data authority and *OBJMGMT object authority to<br />

the /tmp directory and *WX data authority to the root directory for clrtmp to work.<br />

This utility is unique to AS/400.<br />

-c Create /tmp if it does not exist.<br />

date - Write the date and time<br />

date [-u] [+format]<br />

The date utility will write the date and time to standard output. By default, the<br />

current date and time will be written.<br />

-u Give time in universal coordinated time (UTC). The QUTCOFFSET system<br />

value must be set correctly for date to return the correct time.<br />

The +format operand will specify the format of the output from the date command.<br />

Each field descriptor will be replaced in the standard output by its corresponding<br />

value. All other characters will be copied to the output without change. The output<br />

will always be terminated with a newline character.<br />

You can use these field descriptors:<br />

%a Insert abbreviated weekday name of locale.<br />

%A Insert full weekday name of locale.<br />

%b Insert abbreviated month name of locale.<br />

%B Insert full month name of locale.<br />
