Amazonian guest houses
If you’re planning a short trip, the following accommodation structures are an ideal way to immerse
yourself for 2 to 3 days in the natural environment. These structures for tourists offer accommodation in
a carbet with a hammock or bed to sleep in. They are equipped with toilets and showers. Accessible by river,
they are situated in a natural environment and propose discovery activities. You will be completely looked
after (guides, pirogue drivers, on-site staff) and activities, food and drink are included in the package.
Saut Athanase
Type: a group of carbets offering sleeping facilities
in a hammock or bed.
Access: 1 1/2 hour by pirogue upstream of Régina,
on the Approuague river.
Site interests: swimming in the river, fishing,
canoeing, forest treks to amazing falls.
Difficulty: none.
Amazonian guest house:
Tolenga Lodge
Type: a group of traditional carbets with waï leaf roofs,
including individual carbets and a collective one.
Access: 50 min flight to Maripasoula, then 45 min
by pirogue upstream of Maripasoula on the Inini
river (tributary of the Maroni).
Site interests: perched on a small hill and on a
2-hectare cleared site, it dominates the river and
offers an incredible view of the nearby forest.
Difficulty: none.
Amazonian guest house: le Cisame
Type: a group of Amerindian carbets offering sleeping facilities in a
hammock or bed. Access: 2 hours by pirogue upstream of Régina,
on the Approuague river.
Site interests: initiation into forest life, trekking, bivouacking,
descending creeks, swimming in the river, canoeing, initiation into
gold washing. Travel upstream to the Grand Machicou falls or
Canori falls upstream of the lodge.

Amazonian guest house:
Ilet Sophia
Type: a traditional carbet with 8 rooms, and 2 other
carbets offering sleeping facilities in a hammock.
Access: 20 min flight to Saint-Georges de
l’Oyapock, then 1/2 hour by pirogue on the
Oyapock towards Saut Maripa.
Site interests: multiple activities to discover the
surrounding forest and the Brazilian villages just
opposite.
Saut Sonnelle sur l’Inini
Type: a group of Amerindian carbets offering
sleeping facilities in a hammock.
Access: 50 min flight to Maripasoula, then 1/2 hour
by pirogue upstream of Maripasoula on the Inini
(tributary of the Maroni).
Site interests: a taste of Amazonian adventure in
comfortable and safe conditions, in an authentic
setting. The site is perfect for resting and meditating.
