We have created a discussion group to which all the students and professors can send their comments. A lead<br />

question is presented to the group, and contributions are evaluated by all the participat<strong>in</strong>g professors.<br />

We have classes twice a week. On Tuesdays the class is face to face. It is dedicated to a brief lecture and case<br />

discussion. On Thursdays we have a general satellite meet<strong>in</strong>g conducted by the professor responsible of the<br />

whole experience. Dur<strong>in</strong>g these satellite sessions we have a Newscast, a short visit to a host campus and some<br />

of the ma<strong>in</strong> companies <strong>in</strong> that location, a review of the theory, a video support<strong>in</strong>g the case discussed on<br />

Tuesday, a summary of the case discussion and a brief presentation of the theory to be covered the follow<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Tuesday .<br />

Every other Tuesday we have a video l<strong>in</strong>k with the simulation Master for comments and doubts about the<br />

game. Dur<strong>in</strong>g the satellite session we have written and voice mail for doubts and comments.<br />

An e-mail address is open to all the members of the group for communication dur<strong>in</strong>g the semester.<br />

Software and Support<strong>in</strong>g Infrastructure<br />

The course is supported by two k<strong>in</strong>ds of communication:<br />

• On l<strong>in</strong>e. This refers to all the technologies that are used dur<strong>in</strong>g the class session: telephone, fax, live<br />

satellite transmision and a real time remote <strong>in</strong>teraction system which the students and teacher use to make and<br />

answer questions about the class.<br />

• Off l<strong>in</strong>e. This refers to all the technologies that are used out of class: e-mail, Web pages, Net News,<br />

FTP servers, distribution lists us<strong>in</strong>g majordomo and a bus<strong>in</strong>ess simulation program.<br />

This course stands for the efforts that the Monterrey Institute of Technology is do<strong>in</strong>g to change the actual<br />

educational paradigm by develop<strong>in</strong>g a distance educational program by us<strong>in</strong>g avant garde technology <strong>in</strong> all of<br />

its courses.
