The BBS-Internet communication has been achieved by a certa<strong>in</strong> number of gateways (shortly GW):<br />

• Mail<strong>in</strong>g list GW : to enable message exchanges between the Internet mail<strong>in</strong>g list and dedicated BBS<br />

conferences;<br />

• News GW : to <strong>in</strong>terface BBS conferences with the newsgroups;<br />

• File GW : to allow BBS users to send images to Homeland PDB and retrieve them via BBS.<br />

In what follows we outl<strong>in</strong>e the Homeland architecture with respect to the Internet side ; afterwards we take a<br />

closer look at it by focus<strong>in</strong>g our attention on the Web module.<br />

The <strong>in</strong>tegration module is devoted to collect heterogeneous k<strong>in</strong>ds of <strong>in</strong>com<strong>in</strong>g message (news, mail, html), to<br />

transfer them <strong>in</strong> suitable <strong>format</strong> to each <strong>in</strong>ner module and to forward them to the BBS-Internet gateways. In<br />

such a way user can communicate each other even if the use different net clients.<br />

The logical structure of WWW module is showed <strong>in</strong> the follow<strong>in</strong>g figures.<br />
