<str<strong>on</strong>g>ICMLG</str<strong>on</strong>g> offers an opportunity for scholars and practiti<strong>on</strong>ers interested in the issues related to <strong>Management</strong>,<br />

Leadership and Governance to share their thinking and research findings. These fields of study are broadly<br />

described as including issues related to the management of the organisati<strong>on</strong>s’ resources, the interface between<br />

senior management and the formal governance of the organisati<strong>on</strong>. This <str<strong>on</strong>g>C<strong>on</strong>ference</str<strong>on</strong>g> provides a forum for<br />

discussi<strong>on</strong>, collaborati<strong>on</strong> and intellectual exchange for all those interested in any of these fields of research or<br />

practice.<br />

The c<strong>on</strong>ference committee welcomes c<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong>s <strong>on</strong> a wide range of topics using a range of scholarly<br />

approaches including theoretical and empirical papers employing qualitative, quantitative and critical methods.<br />

Acti<strong>on</strong> research, case studies and work-in-progress/posters are welcomed approaches. PhD Research, proposals<br />

Papers accepted for the c<strong>on</strong>ference will be published in the c<strong>on</strong>ference proceedings, subject to author<br />

registrati<strong>on</strong> and payment. The proceedings have an ISBN and <str<strong>on</strong>g>ICMLG</str<strong>on</strong>g> proceedings will be submitted to multiple<br />

accreditati<strong>on</strong> organisati<strong>on</strong>s worldwide. selected papers presented at the c<strong>on</strong>ferences will be c<strong>on</strong>sidered for a<br />

special issue of the Leadership & Organizati<strong>on</strong>al Development Journal ISSN: 0143-7739<br />

Academic Paper submissi<strong>on</strong>s<br />

Papers should address <strong>on</strong>e of the topics listed in this call for papers and can describe a wide range of research<br />

including empirical or theoretical studies. In additi<strong>on</strong>, philosophical papers presenting an argument and papers<br />

presenting a process that has been developed and is now ready for wider use are welcome. In all cases<br />

c<strong>on</strong>cepts and underlying principles should be emphasised, with enough background informati<strong>on</strong> to orient any<br />

reader who is not a specialist in the particular subject area. The work should not have been published elsewhere<br />

and should not be intended to be published elsewhere during the review period. Initially, <strong>on</strong>ly a 300-500 word<br />

abstract is required. See the submissi<strong>on</strong> guidelines <strong>on</strong> the website.<br />

Work in Progress/Posters<br />

Researchers are invited to submit current projects which are either at the proposal stage or are work in<br />

progress. In the first instance you should submit an abstract describing the work. If your abstract is selected<br />

you will be given the choice of producing a short paper with poster or abstract <strong>on</strong>ly with poster. If you opt for a<br />

paper, this should be a maximum of 2000 words including abstract, keywords and references. The paper will be<br />

double-blind peer reviewed and if accepted will be published in the c<strong>on</strong>ference proceedings. Presentati<strong>on</strong> of the<br />

work at the c<strong>on</strong>ference will take the form of a Poster. Posters will be <strong>on</strong> display for the durati<strong>on</strong> of the<br />

c<strong>on</strong>ference and there will be a timetabled slot for c<strong>on</strong>tributors to stand by their posters so that participants can<br />

come and discuss the research. Participants will be asked to vote for the best poster and a prize will be given for<br />

the poster receiving the highest number of votes.<br />

PhD Research<br />

Doctoral Candidates are invited to submit papers describing their research. To be eligible, it is necessary for the<br />

paper to be produced to a publishable academic standard and papers will be subject to the same criteria and<br />

processes as research papers. However the final results of the research may not have been fully completed and<br />

interpreted. Wherever possible, PhD papers will be grouped together into a Colloquium for presentati<strong>on</strong> at the<br />

c<strong>on</strong>ference and there will be a chair pers<strong>on</strong> and a discussant to provided c<strong>on</strong>structive feedback <strong>on</strong> the work. A<br />

prize will be awarded to the best PhD paper presented at the c<strong>on</strong>ference.<br />

Case Study Submissi<strong>on</strong>s<br />

Case study submissi<strong>on</strong>s should be written to publishable standards. Case studies will be subject to the same<br />

criteria and the processes as research papers.

N<strong>on</strong>-Academic C<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong>s<br />

The c<strong>on</strong>ference committee welcomes c<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong>s from individuals and organisati<strong>on</strong>s working in the field.<br />

These c<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong>s can take the form of a presentati<strong>on</strong> or a dem<strong>on</strong>strati<strong>on</strong>. In the first instance and abstract<br />

should be submitted describing the work to be presented. If the abstract is selected you will be asked whether<br />

you wish to produce a paper, a poster or just give a presentati<strong>on</strong>. You will need to register for the c<strong>on</strong>ference to<br />

have a c<strong>on</strong>firmed timetabled slot.<br />

Round Table Proposals<br />

The Programme Committee invites topical subjects to be proposed for discussi<strong>on</strong>. In the first instance an<br />

abstract describing the proposed topic should be submitted. If selected the c<strong>on</strong>vener will be given a timetabled<br />

slot for the round table and will be expected to register to attend the c<strong>on</strong>ference.<br />

If you are c<strong>on</strong>tributing to the c<strong>on</strong>ference in any of the above categories you can also request the opportunity to<br />

give a product dem<strong>on</strong>strati<strong>on</strong>. If you would like to exhibit and/or dem<strong>on</strong>strate a product at the c<strong>on</strong>ference we<br />

suggest that you apply for <strong>on</strong>e of our exhibitor packages.<br />

Abstract<br />

details:<br />

In the first instance ALL submissi<strong>on</strong> types require an abstract. The Abstract should be a minimum<br />

of 300 and no more than 500 words including up to five keywords and keyphrases to be received<br />

by 20 July 2012<br />

Submissi<strong>on</strong>: Use the <strong>on</strong>line submissi<strong>on</strong> form. Please ensure that you complete all relevant secti<strong>on</strong>s of the<br />

form, including the c<strong>on</strong>ference track the abstract is intended for, the proposed title for the paper,<br />

the full names (first name and surname, not initials), postal addresses and email addresses of all<br />

authors and a teleph<strong>on</strong>e number for at least <strong>on</strong>e c<strong>on</strong>tact author. Please indicate clearly if the<br />

c<strong>on</strong>tact author is not the lead author.<br />

Full paper: Only required when the abstract has been selected and not to be more than 5,000 words<br />

including abstract, keywords and references (the Harvard referencing rules need to be followed).<br />

Submissi<strong>on</strong> date will be no later than 7 September 2012. Papers should be submitted as .doc<br />

or .rtf file attachments by email to Kate French.<br />

Important informati<strong>on</strong><br />

The selecti<strong>on</strong> panel of the c<strong>on</strong>ference committee will c<strong>on</strong>sider all abstracts received by the submissi<strong>on</strong><br />

deadline to ensure that the proposed paper is relevant to the <str<strong>on</strong>g>C<strong>on</strong>ference</str<strong>on</strong>g>.<br />

The authors of abstracts that describe a relevant paper will receive a notificati<strong>on</strong> of abstract selecti<strong>on</strong>.<br />

All full papers will be double-blind reviewed by members of the c<strong>on</strong>ference committee to ensure an adequate<br />

standard, that the proposed subject of their abstract has been followed, that the paper is of a suitable length,<br />

the standard of English is adequate and the paper is appropriately referenced.<br />

For authors whose first language is not English we request that you have your work proof-read prior to<br />

submissi<strong>on</strong> by a native English speaker (or at least a fluent English speaker). Papers can be rejected due to a<br />

poor standard of English. We do offer proof-reading services.<br />

Papers that are accepted will be published in the c<strong>on</strong>ference proceedings providing at least <strong>on</strong>e author<br />

registers and presents the work at the <str<strong>on</strong>g>C<strong>on</strong>ference</str<strong>on</strong>g> (see the registrati<strong>on</strong> secti<strong>on</strong> of the c<strong>on</strong>ference website for<br />

more informati<strong>on</strong> about registrati<strong>on</strong>).<br />

Due to the large number of papers expected for this c<strong>on</strong>ference, the committee prefers that an author<br />

presents <strong>on</strong>ly <strong>on</strong>e paper. However, if multiple papers are accepted for publicati<strong>on</strong> and presentati<strong>on</strong>, each<br />

paper requires a separate registrati<strong>on</strong> fee. Author registrati<strong>on</strong> and payment must be completed by 4<br />

January <str<strong>on</strong>g>2013</str<strong>on</strong>g>.
