<strong>National</strong> <strong>ISDN</strong> <strong>Basic</strong> <strong>Rate</strong> <strong>Interface</strong> (<strong>BRI</strong>) on
GTD-5 EAX Switches – BC TEL
Stentor, on behalf of BC TEL, announces the planned introduction of the
<strong>National</strong> <strong>ISDN</strong> <strong>Basic</strong> <strong>Rate</strong> <strong>Interface</strong> (<strong>BRI</strong>) to customers served by the
Company's GTD-5 EAX switches. The interface is expected to be offered by
IQ98.
Compatibility Impact:
Terminals designed to earlier <strong>National</strong> <strong>ISDN</strong> specifications will not be
rendered incompatible by the introduction of this interface. However, this
interface adds new capabilities that may not be supported by such older
terminals.
Documentation:
The <strong>National</strong> <strong>ISDN</strong> <strong>BRI</strong> interface for the GTD-5 EAX is defined in AG
Communication Systems (AGCS) document, CI-004000-001, <strong>ISDN</strong> <strong>BRI</strong>
Customer Equipment <strong>Interface</strong>, Issue 001, March 24, 1997. This document,
refers to specific ITU, ANSI-T1, and Bellcore documents for service/feature
specifications. Hard copies of the document are available from AGCS for
US$100 each. Please note that the price is subject to change without
notice.
