The Hudson River sparkles in the February sun,
while the skyline of the metropolis, home to millions
of people, looks sublime – it would be a truly poetic
morning were it not for the constant sound of beeping
horns from impatient car drivers, the unforgettable
sound of New York City. ‘What’s going on?’ is the
motto in this famous melting pot of cultures, the
stronghold of creatives and artists on the East Coast
of America. On this sunny February morning, the
300-year-old traditional MEISSEN ® manufactory is
also greeted with the iconic phrase ‘Good morning
New York City.’ As in past years, MEISSEN ® managing
director Dr Christian Kurtzke chose the successful
New York team comprising top model Sharam Diniz,
who has long been the “face” of the German luxury
brand, and South African star photographer Matthew
Brookes, for the MEISSEN ® Joaillerie campaign
shoot. ‘I love Matthew Brookes’ images because he’s
an artist and MEISSEN ® is all about art,’ explains Dr
Christian Kurtzke about his starry choice. ‘And I admire
the beauty of Sharam Diniz because she exudes
elegance, sensuousness and authenticity – exactly
those things that MEISSEN ® Joaillerie embodies.’ For
the shoot in and around the picturesque streets of
Greenwich Village and in a unique loft in the West
End with a view of the skyline and the Hudson River,
top model Sharam Diniz wears the latest creations by
“MEISSEN ® Joaillerie”: the new collection “my little
MYSTERY”, which is characterised by elegant shapes
and sensuous colours and, with a true virtuoso flourish,
showcases the high art of MEISSEN ® Porcelain design
in the form of jewellery. There is also the new Bridal
Collection, with which MEISSEN ® aims to tap into a
completely new jewellery segment.
‘I love every single piece of MEISSEN ® Joaillerie. I’d
love to buy them all,’ says Sharam Diniz enthusiastically.
Enveloped in a cloud of white lace, with the delicate
Blossom necklace from the 1739 Royal Blossom Collection
around her neck and the new diamond ring from
the Bridal Collection on her finger, the Victoria’s Secret
model looks like a beautiful princess. The kind of princess
every woman wants to look like on her wedding day.
And then Sharam Diniz smiles her enchanting
smile. And you suddenly no longer quite know
which is more radiant on this special day in New
York – the sun over the Hudson River, the sparkling
MEISSEN ® diamonds or this wonderful woman, the
face of MEISSEN ® . But there’s no doubt about one
thing: with this campaign, the traditional manufactory
of Emperor Augustus the Strong, now more
than 300 years old, has made another step towards
becoming an internationally leading German
jewellery brand. And St. Peter also appears to have
been on its side; just one week later, New York was
enveloped in a snow storm...
