This Chakkra is the seat of the Samâna, region about the<br />

navel and of the Apo Tatwa.<br />

3. The Manipûra Chakkra. This Chakkra is situated near<br />

the navel, it is of a golden colour and has ten petals<br />

(sometimes twelve), its adept is Rudrakhya and its goddess<br />

Lakini. It is the “solar-plexus” or “city of gems,” and is so<br />

called because it is very brilliant. This Chakkra is the seat of<br />

the Agni Tatwa. Also in the abdomen burns the “fire of<br />

digestion of food” situated in the middle of the sphere of the<br />

sun, having ten Kalas (petals). . . .†<br />

He who enters this Chakkra<br />

Can made gold, etc., see the adepts (clairvoyantly) discover medicines for diseases,<br />

and see hidden treasures.‡<br />

4. The Anahata Chakkra. This Chakkra is situated in the<br />

heart, it is of a deep blood red colour, and has twelve petals.<br />

It is the seat of Prâna and is a very pleasant spot; its adept is<br />

Pinaki and its goddess is Kakini. This Chakkra is also the seat<br />

of the Vâyu Tatwa.<br />

He who always contemplates on this lotus of the heart is eagerly desired by the<br />

daughters of gods . . . has clairaudience, clairvoyance, and can walk in the<br />

air. . . . He sees the adepts and the goddesses. . . . §<br />

5. The Vishuddha Chakkra. This Chakkra is situated in the<br />

throat directly below the larynx, it is of a brilliant gold<br />
