“Imagidoux” is a collection of attractive and traditional picture
books, which introduce basic concepts.
The series proposes:
13/07/10 12:45
- Sweet, realistic and colourful illustrations
- A precise, rich and elevated vocabulary
- A format designed for babies: a size appropriate for small hands,
round corners, a padded cover
- 3 books in 1: a subject and what it represents, a situation, a story
A classic board book?
- A single picture, easily
recognisable by a child. He/
she can therefore identify
it, name it and memorize it.
Everyday objects are suggested
as a priority.
- A single word, the legend,
which associates the subject
with its tone.
le seau
pour faire des pâtés de sable,
la plage intérieur.indd 10 15/03/10 11:20
A situation
The subject on the right
page picture is placed in a
scene. Thanks to this picture,
parents can exchange ideas
with the child. They can
read the sentence, say what
is happening in the scene,
invent their own story,
ask the child to point to an
object in the picture or ask
questions.
My Imagidoux
A connecting thread
It is symbolised by a recurrent
graphic icon (a chick in
The Farm, a crab in The Sea
etc). Located at the bottom
of the right page, the icon
appears throughout the
whole story, from the cover
to the double ending page.
TALES FOR
SUMMER NIGHTS
by Collectif
978-2-7000-2862-1
After the resounding success of the title Around the World in the Bedtime
Stories series, here is a new title of 30 magic and tender tales revolving
around summer. All stories are accompanied by colourful illustrations and
arranged according to them.
New 04/11: The Perfect Little Girls by La Comtesse de Ségur & Claire Degans
The Perfect Little Girls depicts the peaceful life of Camille and Madeleine de
Jonathan Swift’s satirical novel was fi rst published in 1726, yet it is still valid
today. Gulliver’s Travels describes the four fantastic voyages of Lemuel Gulliver,
a kindly ship’s surgeon. It is a world of illusion and distorted values.

Tom Sawyer
NEW 09/10
978-2-7000-2955-0
Me voici enchanté de te disputer
« Bon, si tu as saisi le truc, on y va ! »
Tu dois te tourner et me laisser
porter un "revers". »
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
is a popular 1876 novel about a young boy
growing up in the pre-war South. The story is
set in the town of «St Petersburg», inspired by
Hannibal, Missouri, where Mark Twain grew
up. Since then, the story has been adapted and
re-adapted and is still a classic.
chat maigre dormait dessus.
WHITE FANG
by Jack London & Olivier Desvaux (illustrator)
White fang is a mixed dog-wolf that has been captured
by a Native American. In the Indian camp, he has a harsh
life: submission to his authoritarian master and persecutions
from the puppy pack. His destiny changed when he
was sold to a violent dog fi ghter, Beauty Smith. White
Fang becomes a cruel killer. Fortunately, during a terrible
fi ght, he is rescued by Weadon Scott, his last master. With
him, he learns trust and love.
JUST SO STORIES
by Rudyard Kipling & Cécile Geiger (illustrator)
The Just so stories, composed by Kipling to amuse his children,
are 12 funny and sweet ‘why stories’ that explain
the origin of natural phenomena.
How the whale got his throat, how the camel got his
hump, how the rhinoceros got his skin, how the leopard
got his spots, the elephant’s child, the sing-song of old man
kangaroo, the beginning of the armadillos, how the fi rst
letter was written…
50 Surprises
Inspired by the Vivez L’Aventure interactive books, the 50 Surprises series is
directed at a younger public. The reader is the hero or heroine and is invited
to make decisions which will determine the outcome of the story.
Each story unfolds in a familiar world of adventure peopled by pirates, pharaohs,
castles, etc. Readers are given a mystery to solve and by answering
riddles, playing games, and making decisions, the reader progresses through
the book.
This interactive approach to reading appeals to young children, and it
encourages them to use their imagination and express themselves creatively.
an instant success. In 2008 a new version was designed to include comic
strips and even more games and riddles. New talented illustrators have
updated the series with a more modern style.
Vivez l’Aventure is a unique collection that develops logic and observation
skills and helps children to read, while stimulating their imagination.
Each book has a unique theme and setting. With each new page,
the reader is invited to make decisions which will determine the outcome
of the story. By solving riddles and playing games the reader forges his or
her path through different situations. Each new reading offers a new situation
complete with new challenges.
