EDITORIALS
To share, throughout the entire world and with all lovers of French cinema, its new talents: such
is the beautiful cause of Myfrenchfilmfestival.com, a festival decidedly not like the others, which
transforms the Internet into your personal cinema, and Internet users in 170 different countries into
a full-fledged jury, for the ten French feature films and ten French shorts selected for this second
edition to be held in January 2012.
Myfrenchfilmfestival.com, thanks to its opening up, freshness, and modernity of distribution means,
was to prove remarkably its worth as of its very creation. Supported by Unifrance films and Allociné
with the aid of my ministry via the National Centre of Cinema and the Animated Image and the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the festival has grown, with a duration now extended to three weeks, and a partnership now with over a dozen
foreign video-on-demand Internet platforms to favour the distribution of the selected films, available moreover in fifteen diff erent languages.
A selection which reflects the outlooks of a new generation of creators, where society, love and humour meet, both in the featu re films, shorts
and animated films, with as well the opportunity offered to Internet users to rediscover Claude Autant-Lara's masterpiece, The Trip Across
Paris.
Myfrenchfilmfestival.com: a new way of celebrating the cinema, which opens up even greater possibilities for the distribution and recognition
of the young French creators.
Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication
UniFrance films, which promotes with both panache and success French cinema at countless festivals and markets
throughout the world, has taken, with this second edition of My French Film Festival, a new step forward in the conquest
of audiences across the continents.
The idea of promoting contemporary French cinema on-line can but delight the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs,
which strives, along with its operator the French Institute, to distribute as widely as possible our culture throughout the
world by means of new digital tools.
This initiative has received the support of the audiovisual attachés of numerous embassies, delighted to assist with the subtitling of films or
promotion of this exceptional event. Thus, this joint effort of the government, artists, producers and distributors can only go to reinforce the
position of French cinema in a rapidly evolving world market.
I salute the initiative of Unifrance Films to invest in the new means of distribution, and hope that many Internet users will t ake part, like last
year, in this international celebration of cinema.
Christian Masset, General Manager of Globalisation, Development and Partnerships
Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs

As soon as the first edition of My French Film Festival was launched, the CNC congratulated itself on this initiative
the aim of which was to make available to film lovers and Internet users all over the world a selection of French films.
Indeed, for the first time in the world, a film festival had been organised on the Web, and this French innovation might
have appeared in the eyes of some as utopian. The success of the first edition nevertheless confirmed what our
convictions led us to anticipate.
The renewed encouragement by the CNC for this second edition is thus only all the more enthusiastic. The audacity
of the organisers of My French Film Festival resembles today a true conquest.
This new mode of on-line distribution represents a true chance for French cinema.
Making French cinema available to all Internet users is for us a priority. The attraction aroused by French works is indisputab le.
Dematerialization opens up new possibilities as a breach in a system of international distribution which sometimes leaves so little place to
others.
For my part, I hope that this on-line Festival becomes permanent to showcase by rotation the best of all our great festivals, i n order that
this newly established dialogue between Internet users across the world, focused on French cinema, will continue to grow.
Wishing a very good festival to one and all, whether here or elsewhere!
Eric Garandeau, President of the CNC
France is the leading European producer of cinema and the 2nd largest exporter of films worldwide. To support and
favour the international promotion and export of our films, Unifrance Films has accompanied for more than 60 years
French cinema on the five continents. Given the difficult distribution in cinemas of European film productions and the
potential offered by the new media, Unifrance Films launched in 2011 the first on-line film festival accessible worldwide
- MyFrenchFilmFestival.com. This innovative event has enabled us to develop and renew audiences of French cinema
abroad and showcase young French creation.
Thanks to the success of the first edition, which attracted more than 320,000 visitors, and conscious of the potential of such a festival, Unifrance
Films is launching in 2012, still in partnership with Allociné, the second edition, rich with new possibilities. The 10 French shorts and 10 French
feature films selected, as well as, out of competition, a French heritage film and a Canadian film, will be this year availablefor
3 weeks in 14 different
languages (instead of 10 as was the case last year). Unifrance Films has equally diversified its partnerships so that the films of the festival will be
available on a dozen platforms throughout the world, from Dailymotion and Mubi, Snagfilms in the United States, Youku in China, J:Com in Japan,
Kt in Korea, Filmin in Spain to Filmstart in Germany…
Last but not least, we are pleased to be able, this year, to physically launch this event in the presence of the artists, simul taneously in Berlin,
London, Los Angeles and Seoul. We warmly thank all the public and private partners who have remained faithful to us, as well as those who
have accepted to join us for this second edition, and let us wish all a happy festival!
Antoine de Clermont-Tonnerre, President of UniFrance Films
and Régine Hatchondo, General Manager of UniFrance Films
"A popular comedy with admirable Moliéresque vibrations." Le Nouvel Observateur
"The greatest success of Back to Square One lies in the accomplishment of the confessed goal of Thomas Ngijol
RENAULT
Renault, a love story with the 7th Art
OFFICIAL PARTNERS
Renault, a company founded in France more than 110 years
ago, present internationally ever since its very beginning, and
today in 118 countries, has maintained solid and faithful ties
with the 7th Art for more than a century. Indeed, the automobile
constructor is a faithful and passionate partner of the cinema,
present at major film festivals all over the world (Cannes Film
Festival, Deauville American Film Festival, Marrakech Alpe
d'Huez Film Festival, San Sebastian Film Festival, Gdynia Film
Festival, London Film Festival, etc.). Thus, Renault vehicles
have escorted for 28 years now the greatest stars up to the
steps of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. Moreover, Renault
remains the official partner of the Festival in 2012 and will escort
the international film stars aboard the Latitude, its top-ofthe-line
saloon car.
Renault is delighted to join once again Unifrance Films in support
of the 2nd On-line French Film Festival. Within the framework
of this cooperation, Unifrance Films will screen Renault's
film "A Whirlwind of Change" on the homepage of the website
of the Festival (Myfrenchfilmfestival.com).
"A Whirlwind of Change" is a 3D short, produced and distributed
by EuropaCorp at Renault's initiative. This 3-minute animated
film, directed by Edouard Sauer and produced by Luc
Besson's European Film Studio, thrills us with a chase between
a bumblebee and a pigeon across the city, amid Renault's line
of electric vehicles.
AIR FRANCE
For more than 40 years, Air France has been involved in the
promotion of French film works. Wishing to pursue this action,
Air France has joined Unifrance Films for the second edition of
France passengers will be able to watch the festival's films
aboard its long-haul flights in a cinema cycle dedicated to this
event.
Since November 2007, Air France has offered an entertainment
programme of nearly 500 hours on virtually all of its long-haul
fleet, as well as individual videos in all cabins, representing more
than 33,000 screens. This programming includes up to 100
films, 30 hours of documentaries and TV series, 300 CDs, etc.,
via video-on-demand.
AGNES B.
The cinema is a true culture at Agnès b.!
This passion can take on the form of T-shirts in support of a
film, exhibits connected with the cinema, film posters to decorate
its shops, aid to numerous festivals…
The cinema likewise represents a source of inspiration… love of
black-and-white, casual "new wave" elegance, graphic cuts
and fashion films represent so many homages by Agnès to the
cinema. Not to mention its company Love Streams Agnès b.
Productions by means of which Agnès b. has produced many
films, or the DVD collection created with Potemkine, as well as
funding for innovative and singular films thanks to its Endowment
