This list is based on a collection <strong>of</strong> over 600 articles concerning <strong>the</strong> terrestrial <strong>invertebrate</strong> <strong>fauna</strong> <strong>of</strong> Svalbard. None<strong>the</strong>less it should be not be considered as an<br />
accurate overview <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> complete <strong>invertebrate</strong> <strong>fauna</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> archipelago. The terrestrial <strong>invertebrate</strong> <strong>fauna</strong> is largely only known from two localities on<br />
Svalbard, Ny-Ålesund (Kongsfjorden) <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Isfjorden region. Little is known about <strong>the</strong> <strong>fauna</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> east coast or <strong>the</strong> interior. In addition <strong>the</strong>re are large<br />
numbers <strong>of</strong> doubtful identifications <strong>and</strong> possible confusion in <strong>the</strong> taxonomy.<br />
Wherever possible synonyms occuring in <strong>the</strong> Svalbard literature are presented in smaller font.<br />
