PAUL NAGY: Yes, it's just floating there. And if you go into that,<br />

and just let it be, there's still a undesignated center that does stuff,<br />

but it doesn't do things as “I” am doing it, in other words you lose<br />

this identity. <strong>The</strong> identity is lost because it's part of the construct,<br />

right? But the Self isn't lost because the Self is the entire whole.<br />

BRIAN ADLER: You mean self, big S?<br />

PAUL NAGY: Yes, it doesn't have to be big S, if you like big S<br />

TRIP: So get to the point, Paul.<br />

PAUL NAGY: That was the point.<br />

BRIAN ADLER: Some people distinguish between ego and true<br />

Self, I don't tend to. I don't think it's necessary to talk about Self.<br />

It's much more interesting to me to talk about the discovery of<br />

false beliefs than it is to replace them <strong>with</strong> true things.<br />

WIZARD: I hear that, I hear that. That was an aspect of Ramana<br />

Maharshi's teaching, he would just have you look at the belief of<br />

the I-thought <strong>with</strong>out filling in, so that what was revealed was<br />

revealed directly <strong>with</strong>out any window dressing on it. Right on.<br />

BRIAN ADLER: Yes, then there's no limit on it. It's like it’s not<br />

diminishing, it's actually that's how you fully appreciate it.<br />

TRIP: Okay. You've become something of a master at something<br />

that I would like to be more masterful at, so I want to ask you a<br />

question. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Wizard</strong> here says that sexual intimacy is nothing<br />

more than biology, a mere bodily function. Intellectually I agree<br />

<strong>with</strong> him, but in reality I'm a serial monogamist, and my heart<br />

becomes deeply bound to my beloved resulting in anguish every<br />
