WIZARD: Bravo, Brian.<br />

TRIP: Well thank you, Brian.<br />

WIZARD: Right on.<br />

TRIP: Our current President got elected on the antithesis to that.<br />

You must have been chuckling when you heard the tag line for the<br />

Obama administration's campaign.<br />

BRIAN ADLER: Yes, well I guess that's why this occurred to me,<br />

because we think of hope as being a saving grace and it's sort of<br />

like a wolf in sheep's clothing.<br />

WIZARD: It's the mantra of doubt.<br />

TRIP: That probably doesn't play very well <strong>with</strong> people [Laughs].<br />

WIZARD: This is a seldom-touched subject.<br />

TRIP: I mean, I just got off a pretty brutal chat <strong>with</strong> my girlfriend<br />

on the phone as I was sitting in the parking lot there, and it wasn't<br />

just about hope, but it's like having any idea that some future<br />

rearrangement of circumstances is going to make you happier is<br />

just going to keep you suffering, right?<br />

BRIAN ADLER: Well the invisible thing is that like we think<br />

there's a problem and it doesn't even occur to us to question that<br />

fundamental assumption, we spend our whole lives just taking for<br />

granted that our fundamental belief that things should be different<br />

is true, and then we go about trying to make that happen, fulfill<br />
