happened for me was after A Course in Miracles as you<br />

mentioned, what felt like inner guidance came to read the New<br />

Testament and let it be interpreted for me. And through that<br />

process I went beyond where I went <strong>with</strong> the Course, and then<br />

after that, after a year or so after that, I felt like it was time for me<br />

to go a next step. I could just feel that intuitively, but of course I<br />

had no idea what that next step was. I said another prayer, saying<br />

it to the Holy Spirit, because that was still my tradition. I asked<br />

the Holy Spirit to please send me something that would take me to<br />

the next step, and that's when I felt guidance to go over to the<br />

computer and order a book from Ramana Maharshi.<br />

Now I didn't know anything about Ramana Maharshi, and in fact<br />

up until this time I was from a Christian type background, so I<br />

had, you could say, a prejudice or a judgment against Indian<br />

gurus. But I always followed the guidance of this inner prompting<br />

that I called the Holy Spirit. I ordered the book, and when the<br />

book came, I thought that I would open it and just love it, because<br />

it came through guidance. But when I opened it, I didn't<br />

understand it at all, partly because it uses so many Hindu words<br />

and concepts that were completely alien to what I knew.<br />

WIZARD: Which book was that?<br />

REGINA AKERS: It was called <strong>The</strong> Teachings of Ramana<br />

Maharshi.<br />

WIZARD: Yes.<br />

REGINA AKERS: It's a small thin book.<br />

WIZARD: Yes.<br />

REGINA AKERS: But I ended up just throwing the book down,<br />

because it meant nothing to me. And a couple of weeks later when<br />

I was sitting near the table where I had thrown it down, in my<br />

stillness time, the picture on the cover of the book, which now is<br />
