Return the fax to the Drug Room (907-341-2249) before the Wednesday <strong>of</strong> the scheduled order<br />

fulfillment date. This fax is your opportunity to preview your order and to communicate<br />

changes to the Drug Room.<br />

Note: Special orders such as Amikacin, Paser, Priftin, Streptomycin and Seromycin will NOT be<br />

available through auto fill and will need to be ordered by the PHN on an as needed basis.<br />

Please allow two full weeks for processing and delivery <strong>of</strong> these medications.<br />

LTBI Orders:<br />

The Drug Room will supply LTBI medications in bottles unless otherwise specified. A three<br />

month supply is dispensed for treatment duration greater than four months, with scheduled<br />

refills in sixty days.<br />

Compounded Orders/ Specialty Doses:<br />

The Drug Room compounds medication orders as needed.<br />

If compounded as a liquid, the Drug Room will include a dosing spoon/syringe or dropper.<br />

Tablet splitters and tablet crushers are available upon request.<br />

Drug Monographs (aka: Patient Information Sheets) and Medication Guides:<br />

The Drug Room will automatically include Drug Monographs (medication information sheet) and<br />

Medication Guides when appropriate in English with all NEW prescriptions.<br />

<strong>State</strong> and Federal laws require that both Drug Monographs and Medications Guides be given to<br />

the client with all new medication orders. It is the responsibility <strong>of</strong> the facility to insure these<br />

documents are given to their clients.<br />

Upon request, drug monographs are also available in other languages. Contact the Drug Room<br />

for availability. Please request non-English monographs by checking the appropriate checkbox<br />

on the TB/LTBI Medication Request form and specifying the language.<br />

Drug Label Information:<br />

<strong>Alaska</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Pharmacy Statutes regulate what information appears on a prescription label.<br />

Our current label contains: the prescription number, the dispensing pharmacist’s initials, the<br />

dispensing date, the clients name, the medical record number, the provider name, instructions<br />

for use, drug name, drug manufacturer, generic name, drug strength, quantity dispensed,<br />

expiration date and total units remaining on the prescription.<br />
