Sometimes the result from an investigation indicates a need for expansion, but<br />

resources do not permit this. In these situations, seek consultation and assistance from<br />

the next higher level in public health administration (e.g., the county health department<br />

consults with the state health department). Consultation <strong>of</strong>fers an objective review <strong>of</strong><br />

strategy and results, additional expertise, and the potential for personnel or funds for<br />

meeting needs.<br />

Contact the <strong>Alaska</strong> TB <strong>Program</strong> at 907-269-8000 to consult about<br />

expanding a contact investigation.<br />

Low-Priority Contacts<br />

Use Figure 7 to select evaluation, treatment, and follow-up activities for low-priority<br />

contacts.<br />

Evaluate low-priority contacts with medical and exposure history. Based on these<br />

histories, take the actions in the Figure 7.<br />
