Circumstances unique to Alaska may prevent meeting the contact investigation timelines in CDC’s national standards. Interviews and contact investigation activities should be initiated as soon as possible for persons with suspected or confirmed TB disease. When patients are hospitalized or reside outside of their home community at the time of diagnosis, consult the Alaska TB Program at 907-269-8000 regarding options for timely initiation of contact investigation.
