Dear P&A alumni,<br />
I am pleased to introduce the fifth issue of <strong>Bridges</strong>: News<br />
For and About P&A Alumni. This is the first anniversary of<br />
our alumni newsletter, marking a year since we started<br />
making a concerted effort to reach out to former staff and<br />
keep them in the loop about developments at P&A.<br />
Since launching <strong>Bridges</strong>, we have undertaken other activities,<br />
such as getting in touch with you to update our alumni<br />
information, hosting mini-cocktails for the alumni of the<br />
different divisions, and holding the P&A Alumni Cocktails<br />
last December 2011. We look forward to seeing you again<br />
this year, as we prepare to celebrate P&A’s 25 th anniversary in<br />
February 2013.<br />
In the meantime, we hope you will enjoy this issue, which<br />
profiles three of our alumni, one from Audit & Assurance,<br />
one from Tax Advisory & Compliance, and one from<br />
Specialist Advisory Services, a precursor of today’s Advisory<br />
Services.<br />

Redentor “Gabby” Gabinete<br />

Redentor “Gabby” Gabinete was part<br />
of P&A’s Tax Division for only one<br />
year, from 1993 to 1994, but like<br />
many other alumni, he has remained<br />
in touch with his friends from the<br />
Firm. Gabby has fond memories of<br />
“playing basketball with the guys<br />
almost every week,” and he<br />
appreciates the time he spent “in the<br />
company of highly competent young<br />
professionals.”<br />

After eight years as a tax manager at<br />
different professional-services firms,<br />
including firms in Singapore and<br />
Vietnam, Gabby moved to private<br />
industry, working in the real estate,<br />
energy, manufacturing, and<br />
construction industries. Today he is a<br />
vice president at RMD Kwikform<br />
Philippines. He enjoys spending time<br />
with his wife and three daughters.

Jericho and Angel joined<br />
P&A in 2005. They had<br />
met previously at the CPA<br />
Review School of the<br />
Philippines. (Jericho<br />
obtained the second-highest<br />
overall rating in the CPA<br />
licensure examination of<br />
October 2005).<br />
By the time they left the<br />
Firm, Jericho was a senior<br />
in Audit & Assurance, and<br />
Angel was a senior in<br />
Specialist Advisory<br />
Services.<br />
Today, Jericho and Angel<br />
are audit seniors at Grant<br />
Thornton in Malta; Jericho<br />
recently passed the first<br />
level of the examination for<br />
Chartered Financial<br />
Analysts.<br />
Angel has fond memories<br />
of her experiences at P&A,<br />
recalling the summer<br />
outings, strategic<br />
planning sessions, videoke<br />
nights, and dinners out<br />
with colleagues in SAS. But<br />
her favorite part of her time<br />
at P&A was getting<br />
together with Jericho. She<br />
says, “P&A will always be<br />
a part of our lives.”

his busy-season activities<br />
with officemates, such as<br />
Starbucks breaks and<br />
dining out. “P&A is where<br />
I started my career, where I<br />
met Angel, and where I felt<br />
that I’m part of a family.”<br />
In addition to work,<br />
Jericho and Angel enjoy<br />
photography and travel.<br />
European countries they<br />
have visited include<br />
Austria, Denmark, France,<br />
Germany, Monaco, Spain,<br />
Switzerland, and the<br />
United Kingdom. Next on<br />
their list of places to visit<br />
are Croatia and Greece.
