Alcohol and Other Drug Problems Board Members in Attendance: Pamela Lichtenwalner, Rocky Pierson,

The meeting was called to order at 7:10pm. The agenda and minutes were reviewed and approved.
Committee/Community Reports
Christin Brew, Mental Health Advisory Board Member welcomed and gave a summary of “Who We Are” with
a focus on Mental Health needs in FY11/12 and
• Summary of 10/11
• Laura’s Law
• Increase in diverse membership needs
The Advisory Board on Alcohol and Other Drug Problems welcomes and encourages public input at its meetings on issues and needs related to
alcohol and other drug problems in our community. Matters not on the published agenda may be addressed by the general public, but California law
prohibits a board from taking action on matters which are not on the published agenda, except in specified emergencies under the Brown Act.

DJ gave the following updates:
• Realignment of the County Divisions of AOD and Mental Health to Health Services Division
• AB109 subcommittee meeting to determine service needs
Old Business
• An update was given on AB183. There will be no more electronic sales of alcohol at unstaffed registers
as of January 01, 2012
• Michael Scippa of Alcohol Justice gave a report on:
o Alcopop Free Zone Campaign @ Alcohol Justice Center on November 18, 2011
o FTC warned makers of alcopops to change labels of supersized drinks.
o “Free the Bowl” campaign www.Freethebowl.com
o “Stop the Violence” campaign
New Business
A Motion (Rocky Pierson) was made to nominate Jeff Orrisch, Phi Tran and Gail Usilton to the Alcohol and
Drug Advisory Board. Passed (Michael S & Pam L)
Heart of Marin Nominations includes 2 members of the Alcohol and Drug Advisory Board. (Rocky Pierson and
Pamela Lichtenwalner)
Open Public Time
The Alcohol Justice Center is looking for a youth recruits.
On 12/06/11 @ 9:30 a PEI open discussion meeting is at the Kerner Campus
12/01/11 Community Mental Health SELPA submitted for FY12/13

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 pm.

The Executive Board meeting of the Alcohol and Other Drug Advisory Board will be on Monday January 16,
2011 at 5:00 pm at 10 North San Pedro Rd, Conference Room 1019.
