Committee/Community Reports Christin Brew, Mental Health Advisory Board Member welcomed and gave a summary of “Who We Are” with a focus on Mental Health needs in FY11/12 and • Summary of 10/11 • Laura’s Law • Increase in diverse membership needs The Advisory Board on Alcohol and Other Drug Problems welcomes and encourages public input at its meetings on issues and needs related to alcohol and other drug problems in our community. Matters not on the published agenda may be addressed by the general public, but California law prohibits a board from taking action on matters which are not on the published agenda, except in specified emergencies under the Brown Act. • Realignment <strong>of</strong> the County <strong>Division</strong>s <strong>of</strong> AOD <strong>and</strong> Mental Health to Health Services <strong>Division</strong><br />

• AB<strong>10</strong>9 subcommittee meeting to determine service needs<br />

Old Business<br />

• An update was given on AB183. There will be no more electronic sales <strong>of</strong> alcohol at unstaffed registers<br />

as <strong>of</strong> January 01, 2012<br />

• Michael Scippa <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alcohol</strong> Justice gave a report on:<br />

o Alcopop Free Zone Campaign @ <strong>Alcohol</strong> Justice Center on November 18, 2011<br />

o FTC warned makers <strong>of</strong> alcopops to change labels <strong>of</strong> supersized drinks.<br />

o “Free the Bowl” campaign www.Freethebowl.com<br />

o “Stop the Violence” campaign<br />

New Business<br />

A Motion (Rocky Pierson) was made to nominate Jeff Orrisch, Phi Tran <strong>and</strong> Gail Usilton to the <strong>Alcohol</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>Drug</strong> Advisory Board. Passed (Michael S & Pam L)<br />

Heart <strong>of</strong> Marin Nominations includes 2 members <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Alcohol</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Drug</strong> Advisory Board. (Rocky Pierson <strong>and</strong><br />

Pamela Lichtenwalner)<br />

Open Public Time<br />

The <strong>Alcohol</strong> Justice Center is looking for a youth recruits.<br />

On 12/06/11 @ 9:30 a PEI open discussion meeting is at the Kerner Campus<br />

12/01/11 Community Mental Health SELPA submitted for FY12/13<br />

Odyssey @ Marin General Hospital 250 Bon Air on 12/6-7 1:30-4:30pm<br />

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 pm.<br />

2011 at 5:00 pm at <strong>10</strong> <strong>North</strong> <strong>San</strong> Pedro Rd, Conference Room <strong>10</strong>19.<br />
