Q. What inspired you to become
a police officer?
A. Growing up I had a lot of
exposure to it. I had two uncles
who were police officers. I was
attracted to the job because it
looked exciting. I grew up in
Uxbridge, and I am happy to
work here.
Q. What is your favorite part
about being a police officer in
Uxbridge?
A. My favorite part about
working in Uxbridge would be
being able to work in the
schools. I like going in and
seeing and talking to the kids.
Q. How did you become
involved Uxbridge Public
Schools?
A. About 3 years ago the
police chief wanted to add a
job. I wrote a letter saying why
I wanted to be the school
resource officer, and what I
wanted to do with it.
Q. What is your job as the
schools’ resource officer?
A. As the school resource
officer, I go into the schools and
talk to the kids about safety,
bullying, the internet, and more.
Sometimes, staff calls me in for
a certain reason. I go into all of
the Uxbridge Public Schools.
Q. Have you ever been
involved in solving any
crimes?
A. Yes, I have solved crimes
before. I am not usually the
only one on the case though. I
usually work with a team.
Q. What is the GREAT
program, and how do you
help them?
A. The GREAT program is a
course that kids take. GREAT
stands for Gang, Resistance,
Education, And, Training. I
am a teacher; I teach kids
about relationships, positive
reactions, bullying, and dangers
of gangs.
Book Review
By Ben Fox
The book I am going to be reviewing this
issue is the Septimus Heap series. It is a
contender with the Harry Potter series and
filled with plot twists, magyk (how spelled
in book), and ghosts, among other things. I
am thoroughly enjoying this series and
advise you to go get it from the library.
