Infant Baptisms
The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated with parent and godparent
catechesis on the first Sunday of the month and Baptisms
usually on the second and fourth Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Call the
Parish Center to register.
Marriage
Arrangements should be made at least 6 months prior to the
intended date of the wedding. Please call the Parish Center to
schedule your date and make an appointment to speak with one
of the priests.
Anointing of the Sick
The church encourages all who are ill, about to undergo surgery,
or confined to their home due to illness to be prayed over
and anointed with sacred oil. This can take place at a parish
Mass, in the home or in the hospital. Please do not wait for the
last moment for yourself or a loved one to be anointed and by
all means speak to a priest for more information or details.

FR. RON’S RAMBLINGS
Labor Day weekend is upon us and while it is
the official end of summer, I sure hope we
have a few more weeks of nice warm weather
to make up for July!! Am back from vacation
and ready to begin my third year with you. So
much has happened during these two years!
Please God this coming year will be a bit less
tumultuous.
Deacon Dan continues with his wonderful
ministry among. His primary responsibility as
most of you know is the homebound and hospital
ministry. Along with many Extraordinary
ministers of the Eucharist, Dan cares for those
who are ill or otherwise unable to worship
with us. He likes to say that he follows where
the Eucharist leads him…..and sometimes that
is far and wide. We are fortunate and blessed
to have such a dedicated and Christ centered
deacon who also preaches so well!
Carmen Giombetti, our Pastoral Associate,
likewise has her fingers in many different pots
in the parish. One of her primary responsibilities
is meeting with families at the time of a
death and planning the funeral liturgy with
them. She assists at all funerals and creates this
valuable link with so many families. Her pastoral
care and concern is also a gift to us.
School will be opening this week and religious
education will be starting soon. Gerry
Mc Donald our DRE and Pat Delaney our principal
are two more dedicated and talented additions
to our pastoral staff and we are grateful
for all their ministry as well.
We are blessed as a parish and I ask for your
continued prayers for us all as we head into
this new year.

PONDERAÇÕES DO PADRE RON
O ainda próximo fim de semana passado, Labor
Day foi tambem, oficialmente, o fim do Verão. No
entanto espero que tenhamos ainda mais umas
semanas de bom tempo de modo a compensar os
que não tivemos durante o mes de Julho passado.
Estou de regresso das minhas férias e pronto para
começar o meu terceiro ano convosco, na vossa
companhia. Tantas coisas acontecerem durantes
estes dois anos passados! Deus queira que este
novo ano seja menos tumultoso e mais calmo.
O diácono Dan continua entre nós, com o seu
ministerio. Nas suas principais respon sabilidades,
como sabemos, está o serviço nos hospitais.
Juntamente com os ministerios da eucaristia, Dan
toma conta dos que estão doentes assim como
outros que estão incapazes de assistir ao culto. Ele
costuma dizer que ele vai para onde a Eucaristia o
leva. Devemos-nos sentir muito afortunados em
termos connosco uma figura tão dedicada a Cristo
e que prega to bem!
Carmen Giombetti, nosso Pastor Associado, do
mesmo modo tem sido extraordinária nos
diferentes trabalhos na paroquia. Uma das suas
principais responsabilidades é reunir-se com as
familias quando de occurencias de morte e na
ajuda a planear o funeral assim como em toda toda
a liturgia relacionada com isso. Ela está sempre
presente em todos os funerais e deste modo cria
uma ligação permanente com muitas familias. A
sua forma de cuidar e a sua permanente
preocupação, são uma autentica benção para nós.
A escola abre nesta semana e deste modo a
educação religiosa recomeçará muito em breve.
Gerry McDonald, nosso DRE a Pat Delaney, nosso
principal, são mais duas dedicadas e talentosas
adições ao nosso grupo pastoral. Estamos tambem
muito gratos pelos seus ministerios.
Nós somos abençoados, como Paroquia e pedimos
a todos que continuem a rezar por nós no começo

A verdadeira fé passa pela escuta e depois pelo

cristã autêntica pela cura da surdez espiritual que
nos impede de ouvir a Palavra, que é Jesus, e
depois anunciá-lo com a voz aos irmãos. Aqueles
que não ouvem e nem praticam a Palavra
necessitam urgentemente de cura. Lembramos
ainda que a prática da justiça e da solidariedade com
os irmãos, principalmente os excluídos é um sinal
de sanidade de nossa fé.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Registrations: Now that the children are returning to school, we ask that families please be sure to send
your registration information in to the Religious Education Office as soon as possible. Without the use of
the old school building, we are short a few classrooms this year and will have to begin to limit the number
of children that can attend classes in the first session on Sunday mornings from 10 - 11 a.m. Those who
are registered in advance will be given priority, so please register right away.
Catechists needed! So what else is new at this time of the year? We are in need of catechists on Sunday
mornings and Tuesday evenings. We will provide guides and training - it’s not as hard as you may think.
The best catechists are not those who have all the answers for the children, but those who practice the
faith. Please pray and consider taking a class this year.
Classroom / Catechist assignments will be sent out to each family this week. If you have made a special
request (for a particular class or catechist) we want you to know that, in almost every case so far, we have
been able to comply with your request.
Classes Begin: Sunday morning sessions for grades 1 thru 5 will begin on September 20 th . Tuesday evening
classes for grades 1 thru 5 will begin on September 22 nd . Our “Edge” meetings for grades 6, 7 and 8
will begin on Monday September 28 th . The Confirmation program for grs 9 -12 will begin with a meeting
for the parents and sponsors on Sunday, September 27 th from 6-7:30 pm in the lover church or on Tuesday,
September 29 th from 6-7:30 pm in the parish center meeting room. Schedules for each of these programs
are available in the back of the church (upper and lower)
CATECHIST INFO:
Catechist training and meeting for Grs 1 - 5: We have scheduled a training workshop for Sunday, Sept 13 th
with Kathy Krane from Sadlier Publishing Co. Kathy will show you how to get the most our of the catechist
guide and answer any questions you may have about teaching. The training will run from 10 am to
12 noon. Lunch, including pizza, will be provided at noon and a meeting will take place following from
1 - 2 pm. Class lists, calendars, and a number of other items will be available for each catechist as well as
Catechist guides. Also, please feel free to bring your children if you don’t have anyone to watch them
while we meet. We will have activities to keep them busy while we meet and will be happy to include
them in our pizza party.
For catechists who cannot join us on Sunday, Sept 13 th , we will have two other meetings; one on Tuesday,
Sept 15 th from 6 - 8 pm and one on Thursday, Sept 17 th from 6 - 8 pm.
All meetings will be held in the parish center meeting room (above the library.)
If you cannot attend any of these meetings, please be sure to contact Gerry to arrange a meeting to pick up
your class list and guide before classes start.
EDGE Core Team Meeting: All adult and teen members of the Edge Program are asked to meet on Thursday,
Sept 10 th from 7 - 9 pm in the parish center meeting room.

Saint Michael School wishes to thank the many
people, parents, students, grandparents, volunteers
and especially our faculty, and committee
and governance board members, who all have
contributed to its successful move these past
weeks. Many activities are planned for the upcoming
weeks. School opens for all grades on
Tuesday, September 8, the Blessed Mother’s birthday.
Our first day will be a half-day with an 11:15
dismissal for all classes. As is our tradition, a
Welcome Coffee will be hosted by our Home &
School Association, this year taking place in the
gym. The traditional school Opening Liturgy will
take place on September 9, at 9:00 AM, (09/09/09
at 9:00). We welcome all to join us as we begin
our new year with prayer.
Pizza, Beer and Prayer Meeting
The St. Michael Men’s Club will host its first
meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 16
at 7:00 pm in the first floor meeting room of the
Parish Center. We will have a social gathering
from 7-7:30 pm, followed by our scriptural prayer
session and then our open discussion period. In
our final meeting in May we decided as a group
that we would offer our services to Father Ron for
a parish project that he feels we could be of service
in accomplishing. We have twenty two active
members who have made our meetings fun,
spiritual and relationship building. If you would
like to spend some time with a group of faith
filled, fun loving and special people, come join us.
The pizza is delicious, the beer is cold and the relationships
fulfilling. Please contact President

Hudson’s Volunteer Reserve Corps
Mission of Hudson’s Volunteer Corps is to provide support
services to Hudson’s public safety departments and town
officials in the event of an emergency or disaster situation
for the betterment of the town’s citizenry, through a citizen
volunteer corps of medical and lay residents, delivering
emergency preparedness education and general disaster
support of awareness.
With a pandemic having been recently declared more
work lies ahead. This work includes one or more Flu
Clinics this fall. THE CLINIC IS SCHEDULED FOR
OCTOBER 3 AT HUDSON HIGH SCHOOL
The VRC is actively recruiting more volunteers to assist
in this Clinic. Our neighbors need our assistance!
Please consider joining us. We are in need of people
with a variety of skills and talents not just healthcare
professionals. Membership is open to all with an interest
in helping. Education and training is provided,
free of charge.

“Choose Life” License Plate
In a recent issue of the Pilot, Cardinal O’Malley has
encouraged people to sign up for the new “Choose
Life” License Plate. In order to have the license plates
made up we have to have 1500 people send an application
for the plate by October 31, 2009. We have already
received 838 applications. Originally we
needed 3000; however a benefactor (Guardian Angel)
is willing to provide the $100,000 insurance binder to
secure the plates, so we now only need 1500 application.
The registration fee is $40.00 and tax deductable.
$12.00 will go to the State for the plate and $28.00 will
go to Charities for Life. For future renewals all of the
$40.00 will go directly to different charities for Life.
Please sign up as soon as possible! Applications are
on the tables at the rear of the Church.
Thank you for your support!
We are up to 1149 Choose Life registrations. Only
351 more needed to meet our goal!

Grupo de Voluntários de Reserva de Hudson
Este grupo tem a missão de, em casos de emergencia,
ajudar os serviços de segurança publica da vila, na preparação
dos cidadãos a enfrentar situações de desastre
que possam surgir, através dum grupo voluntario de
assistencia medica, treino e prevenção.
Com a declaração oficial da recente epidemia mais e
mais trabalho se espera para este grupo, incluindo mais
estações clínicas para tratamento da gripe. A CLÍNICA
ESTÁ PROGRAMADA PARA 3 DE OUTUBRO NO
LICEU DE HUDSON
Este grupo está neste momento a, duma forma muito
active, recrutar mais voluntarios para ajudar especialmente
no aspecto clinico. Os nossos visinhos precisam
de ajuda!
Por favor, pense seriamente em fazer parte deste
Grupo. Temos na verdade necessidade de voluntarios
em todas os campos, não só no campo médico professional.
Estamos verdadeiramente receptivos a todos

FATIMA DAY AT THE SHRINE IN HOLLISTON:
On Sunday September 13 th , the Xaverian Missionaries
will hold the traditional Fatima Day celebration
in honor of Our Lady. Sing-along at 6:30pm.
Mass at 7:00pm. The main celebrant and homilist
will be Fr. Anthony b. Lalli, sx, a Xaverian Missionary
who spent many years working in Brazil. Candlelight
Procession and outdoor Rosary at 8:00pm.
Refreshments will be served in the Hall.
Dia de Fátima no Santuário de Holliston:
No proximo dia 13 de Setembro, Domingo. Os
Missionários de S.Francisco Xavier realizarão o
Dia de Fatima, em homenagem e celebração a
nossa Senhora de Fátima.Canticos começarão ás
6:30 da tarde e a Missa será ás 7.A principal
celebração e omilia será feita pelo Frei Anthony B.
Lalli, missionário de S.Francisco Xavier que
passou muitos anos a trabalhar no Brazil. A
procissão de velas e o Rosário, serão ás 8 da noite.
Serão servidos refrescos á entrada.
Prayer for Labor Day
On this weekend, when we rest from our usual
labors, loving Father, we pray for all who shoulder
the tasks of human labor—in the marketplace,
in factories and offices, in the professions,
and in family living.
We thank you, Lord, for the gift and opportunity of
work; may our efforts always be pure of heart, for
the good of others and the glory of your name.
We lift up to you all who long for just employment
and those who work to defend the rights and needs
of workers everywhere.
May those of us who are now retired always remember
that we still make a valuable contribution to our
Church and our world by our prayers and deeds of
charity.
May our working and our resting all give praise to
you until the day we share together in eternal rest
with all our departed in your Kingdom as you live
and reign Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God,
forever and ever. Amen
