Brevetti Internazionali Campagnolo is identified<br />

with its founder, the current President and Managing<br />

Director - Tullio Campagnolo.<br />

On ihe 11th November 1927 Tullio Campagnolo, by<br />

that time a recognised amateur racing cyclist, is<br />

competing in a hard cycle race being run on roads<br />

in the Dolomites. Suddenly the weather turns to<br />

intense cold with snow on the scene resembles<br />

winter on the difficult twisting road on the Aune<br />

Cross Pass.<br />

Campagnolo is in a good position but punctures.<br />

His fingers are so numb with the cold that he<br />

cannot unscrew the wing-nuts which hold his<br />

wheel in the frame. He loses valuable time but<br />

thereby conceives ideas which will change the<br />

mechanics of racing cycles.<br />

A clever and imaginative engineer - Campagnolo<br />

begins to produce and patent a series of prototypes<br />

of cycle accessories which will eventually<br />

make him famous throughout the world.<br />

Though an undisputed leader in the field of special<br />

racing components, Campagnolo also has<br />

interested himself in other fields such as soecial<br />

lightweight magnesium wheels for racing, Grand<br />

Touring, Sporting and Production cars. - He also<br />

excels in this field and from wheels for Formula<br />

One racing cars has moved into special parts for<br />

the auiomotive field of motor cycle, aviation and<br />

aerosoace industries.<br />
