Funding for this purchase is available from Railroad Commission of Texas grant funding to the Environmental Services Department. BACKGROUND: The city's existing CNG station is located at: 5710 Daugherty, Laredo, Texas 78401 was upgraded in 201 1 through the ARRA funds to fuel any light-duty trucks or buses. The station is the only public fueling station in Laredo and capable of fueling the private light-duty CNG vehicles as well as the city's existing thirty-six (36) light-duty trucks. City of Laredo also, recently received a Grant from Railroad Commission of Texas to convert 25 light duty trucks to CNG to save the fuel cost. Authorization is requested to purchase perform CNG bi-fuel conversions on ten City owned Ford and Chevrolet trucks. These trucks will be able to operate on both regular gasoline and compressed natural gas (CNG).
