AU'PpQOMZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH TEE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
'I'RANSPORTATION AND TO DISBURSE A PAYMENT IP3 THE
AMOUNT OF $603,000 AS THE CITY'S CONTRIBUTION TO THE
COST OF WIGHT OF WAY ACQUISITION ANID ADJUSTMlENT
OF CQMPENSABLE UTILITES FOR THE PORTION OF THE
PROPOSED CUATRO VIENTOS HIGHWAY, LOCATED FROM
S.H. 359 TO 1.0 MILES SOUTH OF S.H. 359, IDENTIFIED AS
LOCATION "Bn ON ATTACHMENT B. FUNDING IS
AVAILABLE EN THE 2006 C.0.
WHEREAS, the State of Texas plans to construct Cuatro Vientos Highway, a five lane urban
facility; and,
WHEREAS, it will be the State's responsibility to acquire the necessary right of way and
perform the required utility adjustments, which are estimated at $603,000 in total costs; and,
WHEREM, it is the City's responsibility is to contribute an amount equal to one'hundred
percent (100%) of these costs, or $603,000; and,
WHIEREAS, on October 10,2005, the City of Laredo submitted an application to the Texas
Transportation Commission requesting matching funds relief through the EconomicaIIy
Disadvantaged Counties Program; and,
WHELaEAS, On November 17,2006, the Texas Transportation Commission issued Minute
Order Number 1 103 13, which denied the City of Laredo's relief application;
NOW THEREFORE, BE rr RESOLVED BY m CITY COUNCIL OF THE crry OF
LAREDO, TEXAS THAT:
Section 1: THE CITY MANAGER IS AUTHORIZED TO
EXECUTE A FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH T TEXAS
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND TO DISBURSE A
PAYMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $603,000 AS THE CITY'S
CONTRU3UTION TO THE COST OF RIGHT OF WAY ACQUISITION
AND ADJUSTMENT OF COMPENSABLE UTILITES FOR THE
PORTION OF THE PROPOSED CUATRO VENTOS HIGHWAY,
LOCATED FROM S.H. 359 TO 1.0 MILES. SOUTH OF S.H. 359,
IDENTIFED AS LOCATION "B" ON ATTACHMENT B.
