RESOLUTION NO. 2006-KO89
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FUNDING
AGREEMENT WITH Tm TEXAS DEPARTMEFYT OF
TRANSPORTATION AND TO DISBURSE A PAYM[ENT IN THE
AMOUNT OF $2,275 AS THE CITY'S CONTRZBU'lrPON TO TEE COST
OF RIGHT OF WAY ACQUISITION AND ADJUBTMEm OF
COMPENSABLE UTILITIES FOR THE PORTION OF THE PROPOSED
CUATRO VIENTOS HIGIIWAY, LOCATED FROM S.H. 359 TO 1.0
MILES SOUTH OF S.H. 359, IDENTIFIED AS LOCATION "An ON
ATTACHMENT B. FUMDING IS AVAILABLE IN TEPE 2086 C.0.
'WHEREAS, the State of Texas plans to construct Cuatro Vientos Highway, a five lane urban
facility; and,
WHEREA$, it will be the State's responsibility to acquire the necessary right of way and
perform the necessary utility adjustments, which are estimated at $65,000 in total costs; and,
WHEREAS, it is the City's responsibility is to contribute an amount equal to ten percent (1 0%)
of these costs, or $6,500; and,
WHEREAS' on October 10,2005, the City of Laredo submitted an application to the Texas
Transportation Commission requesting matching funds relief through the Economically '
Disadvantaged Counties Program; and,
WHEREAS, on November 17,2005, the Texas Transportation Commission issued Minute
Order Number 1 103 13, granting the City of Laredo a downward adjustment of sixty five percent
(65%), and thereby reduced the City's required ten percent (10%) contribution from $6,500 to
$2,275;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TWE CITY OF
LAREDO, TEXAS THAT:
Section 1: THE CITY MANAGER IS AUTHORIZED TO EXECUTE A
FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION AND TO DISBURSE A PAYMENT IN THE AMOUNT
OF $2,275 AS THE CITY'S COmUTION TO THE COST OF RIGHT OF
WAY ACQUISITION AND ADJUSTMENT OF COMPENSABLE UTILITIES
FOR THE PORTION OF THE PROPOSED CUATRO VIENTOS HIGHWAY,
LOCATED FROM S.H. 359 TO 1.0 MILES SOUTH OF S.H. 359, IDENTIFIED
AS LOCATION "A" ON ATTACHMENT B.
