1918 - 2010 Goh Keng Swee - People's Action Party - PAP

Dr Goh Keng Swee was instrumental in transforming Singapore
into an international financial centre. He recognised POSB’s ability
to mobilise Singaporeans to save, and developed POSB into a
statutory board for the benefit of the nation. Inculcating the virtue
of thrift through new services, incentives, school programmes and
publicity campaigns initiated in 1968, POSB grew from strength to
strength to become the people’s bank.
His legacy is long-lasting and even today, DBS and POSB continue
to live and grow his vision.
