(on the way to Ambato), and to the lake<br />

of Cotalo ; and down the Pastasa as far as<br />

Antombos.<br />

Sept. 1-30. On lower slopes of Tunguragua. On cliffs and<br />

beaches of Pastasa, etc.<br />

the Pastasa to the cataract of Agoyan, to the Rio<br />

Blanco, etc.<br />

Dec. 1-31. Collecting around Banos. Ascent of Mount Tunguragua<br />

by way of the chacras of Pondoa and the<br />

forest beyond, where there are numerous treeferns,<br />

palms, laurels, Weinmannias, etc., at a<br />

height of 8000 to 11,000 feet.<br />

Jan. 1-15. About foot of Tunguragua, some fine trees.
