established a clear method of financial reporting which is also a method for veri-<br />
fying what we have achieved and a stimulus to achieving shared goals.<br />
Over the years we have tried to strike the right balance between the different<br />
interests of stakeholders, between short and long-term objectives guaranteeing<br />
the future of the Company.<br />
Management has taken on this responsibility without shying away from the need<br />
to ensure that each operation carried out meets the Company requirements<br />
and, overall, the need to ensure coherence.<br />
Significantly, this <strong>Social</strong> <strong>Report</strong> indicates a strengthening of the involvement<br />
and role of stakeholders, with a transition from one-to-one communications to<br />
a network of stakeholders in continuous dialogue, redefining the involvement<br />
of each network member and the overall aims of the Company. The social re-<br />
sponsibility of each stakeholder has been determined anew in the course of this<br />
process.<br />
This rethinking of the multi-stakeholder approach will lead to a focusing of the<br />
Company strategy and a redefinition of the structure of the Company (URCs,<br />
the Cesar Foundation), its technical resources and facilities, which – although<br />
forerunners in the field – will be strengthened in order to provide additional com-<br />
mitment to the target public and the community as a whole.<br />
These are no easy aims. To achieve them, <strong>Unipol</strong> will continue to innovate with-<br />
out being swayed by fashionable ideas and buzzwords. It will continue to be a<br />
concrete business organization with a realistic and honest approach.<br />
This is a necessary commitment to each and every member of the Company:<br />
<strong>Unipol</strong> has grown thanks to them, their motivation, sense of belonging and skills,<br />
enabling the Company to achieve its very tangible aims, without losing sight for<br />
a moment of its distinguishing values in connection with the social economy and<br />
