GROUP STRATEGY<br />

SECTION I – IDENTITY<br />

The activity of the <strong>Unipol</strong> Group during the year which has just fi nished contin-<br />

ued to refl ect strategic guidelines, which aim to:<br />

further consolidate the position of the Company in the insurance sector;<br />

greatly develop Company banking activities, in co-operation with the insur-<br />

ance network and develop merchant banking.<br />

The Group is following the current phase of merger and acquisition in the bank-<br />

ing sector with an eye to new opportunities which will be carefully evaluated<br />

according to the growth aims of the Company.<br />
