THANK YOU to our recent guest, Fr. Charles<br />
Morris, for his great insight into the<br />
Protestant Reformation. Much was learned<br />
by those in attendance. Also, many<br />
questions we answered as to why the<br />
‘protest’ caused such a splinter in our<br />
church. Thanks again Fr. Morris and we<br />
hope you can return to share more of your thoughts on<br />

Blessed Mother than praying this most powerful<br />

THE CORRIDORS are quiet, it’s eerie silence, these<br />
hallways should be filled with laughter, happy<br />
voices, shrill outbursts of children, little children, but<br />
these halls are quiet except for an occasional cry, a cry<br />
of pain—a cry of a little sick child. These halls are the<br />
silent halls of <strong>St</strong>. Jude’s Children's Cancer Research Hospital<br />
in Memphis, TN. And the cries of pain are coming from<br />
the voices of some<br />
very sick children at<br />
that hospital. For the<br />
last four years the<br />
Archbishop Sheen<br />
council has been<br />
helping the kids at <strong>St</strong>.<br />
Jude's. We have had<br />
four golf outings, four<br />
dinners and have<br />
worked three fiftyfifty<br />
raffles at the<br />
Classic Car show at<br />
Bakers. All the<br />
money, every cent<br />
that we made the last<br />
four years went<br />
directly to <strong>St</strong>. Jude's.<br />
We also sold <strong>St</strong>. Jude<br />
bracelets, and we<br />
collected $1,133.<br />
Also, many people of<br />
this parish donated<br />
generously to our <strong>St</strong>.<br />
Jude project. For<br />
those children at <strong>St</strong>.<br />

TODAY WE celebrate the Ascension of the Lord.<br />
After He ascended into heaven, He sent the<br />
Holy Spirit as a guide and comforter. Let us allow the<br />
Holy Spirit to guide us to reach out to those in need<br />
providing comfort and assurance that they are cared<br />
about.<br />

SPRING CLEAN-UP<br />

Volunteers Welcomed<br />
SPRING HAS come to <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Mary</strong>, and as a result,<br />
our annual clean-up will take place on Saturday, May 29th<br />
beginning at 9 a.m. If you can volunteer, please call Ron<br />

FAIR 2010<br />
THE 2010 ST MARY PARISH FAIR needs your<br />
help. We are looking for parishioners to assist<br />
with a couple of our activities.<br />
Anna Lesnek is seeking a Bake Sale co-chair. Anna is<br />
looking for someone who will work with her pre-fair and<br />
during the fair. Baking skill in not a necessity.<br />
We are in need of a couple of our older high school<br />
students to chair and run the Welcome Tent. This activity<br />
involves greeting guests at the entrance to the fair and<br />
giving balloons to the young children.<br />
Our biggest need is a Silent Auction Chairperson (or<br />
couple). Last year’s assistant will return to work with this<br />
year’s chairperson to contact area businesses and groups<br />
to solicit donations for the auction.<br />
Volunteering allows a person to demonstrate their<br />
Christian faith in following Jesus’ teachings of service to<br />
others.<br />

MISSION<br />
TRIP 2010<br />
LAST THURSDAY we had another tool<br />
training session. We spent the time<br />
building more small picnic tables.<br />
Wouldn’t you just love to see your<br />
kids or grandkids sitting at one of our<br />
tables? Call Val or JV if you would<br />
like to purchase one. We are still working to raise all<br />
the funds needed for our trip. Donations are graciously<br />
accepted.<br />

will provide babysitting at <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Mary</strong> Church from 6:30 p.m.<br />
- 11:30 p.m.<br />
Please make reservations by Sunday, May 16, 2010,<br />
as we need to know how many children the group<br />
will be watching for the evening.<br />
****Please note the following points.<br />
• Cribs are not available for infants to sleep.<br />
• Recommended age: 1 year and +.<br />
• Please make sure that your child or children has had dinner prior to<br />
arriving at the church.<br />
• Please send a sleeping bag, blanket, pillow, or a favorite stuffed<br />
animal with your child (These items are optional)<br />
