An important component of the natural heritage inventory and protection process involves gathering information from state experts, professionals, and
avocational naturalists throughout the state. To facilitate this, the Division of Natural Heritage has developed this rare species sighting form. If you
would like to participate in our inventory and protection activities, please take a few moments to complete the attached form for any species from our
rare species list. These data will be evaluated for incorporation into the natural heritage database and used exclusively for the protection of the rare
species and its habitat. Please send the form to the staff zoologist at the address above. Thank you for your support. The Division of Natural Heritage
can only realize the protection of the Commonwealth's natural diversity by working through a network of knowledgeable and concerned individuals.
