The total water supplied is about 124 MLD.
The availability of water is adequate but distribution system needs improvement.
Issues are that numbers of connection is not increasing due to excess use of ground water,
low pressure and unreliable service, low utilization due to old and leaky system, Inadequate
funds for O&M.
The need is felt to expand distribution as demand is high.
The piped water supply of Bareilly City was started about 30 years ago.
The distribution network covers 60% of the city area.
The leakage (UFW - unaccounted-for water) is estimated to be 30 percent due to old and
leaky pipelines.
The most significant drawback of Bareilly water supply is the huge amount of water wastage
and negligible revenue collection from public utilities (for example parks and fire fighting
etc.) and stand posts which takes away about 10 percent of water.
