(RB!). The original material was most likely in LZ<br />

but that collection was unfortunately destroyed<br />

during WO-II.<br />

Habitat: rare species of wet glades in rainforests at<br />

mid to higher elevation.<br />

Localities: the species is only known from Guadeloupe<br />

and Martinique. Proctor (1977) wrote that the species<br />

was not recently collected, but in 1992, Vivant (1996)<br />

found the species on a slope of Morne Boudoute, south<br />

of a swampy depression between Étang Madère and<br />

Étang Roche, in a rarely visited forest.<br />

Matouba, Christenhusz 4100 (NY, P, TUR); 4104 (NY,<br />

TUR); Prècheur, Grande Rivière (M. J. M. Christenhusz,<br />

Type: Venezuela, Caracas, Bredemeyer s.n. (holotype<br />

B-Willd. 19948).<br />

Habitat: rare terrestrial fern. This species is cited by<br />

Fournet & Hoff (1999), but no specimens from Guadeloupe<br />

were examined. I cannot evaluate this record.<br />

2: 234. 1864. Type: Cultivated at the Royal Botanic<br />

Habitat: rare terrestrial fern in wooded rocky hillsides<br />

at mid elevations, but there are no specimens of<br />

this species from Guadeloupe in P or RB, so this<br />

record cannot be confirmed.<br />
