Adiantum capillus-veneris sensu Fournet & Hoff<br />

(1999), non L. The true maidenhair fern is often<br />

confused with A. raddianum. It may be cultivated<br />

in Guadeloupe, but has never been found in the<br />

wild. The nearest known population of A. capillusveneris<br />

grows on a fortress wall in San Juan, Puerto<br />

Rico.<br />

Habitat: commonly cultivated and recently naturalized,<br />

especially in the regions of Sainte Claude,<br />

Matouba (Vivant, 1996), Domaine de Valombreuse<br />

and Dunoyer (Grand Terre).<br />
