Note: The species is morphologically variable and its<br />

species complex is little understood.<br />

Habitat: rare terrestrial scrambling fern. The species<br />

was collected in Mamelle Pigeon (GUAD!) and<br />

Mamelle de Petit Bourg (Vivant, 1996), but is not<br />

present at these localities any more; however, Vivant<br />

(1996) mentions to have located specimens near<br />

Chute du Gallion on the lower flanks of the Citerne<br />

mountain. I have not found this species there. This<br />

endemic species of the Lesser Antilles is endangered<br />

in its entire range.<br />
