Late Oligocene aged Halıkışlak formation’s mudstones facies show very low %TOC, HI and genetic
potential (GP) values (% 0.06-0.25, 14-90 and 20 to 220 ppm), respectively, though its coaly facies
show high value for %TOC and GP, but immature and low HI (% 6.78, 3115 ppm, and Tmax= 4280C
and HI=45). The Turabi formation (Lower Miocene) is deposited in lacustrine complex, containing
of uniform mudstones show low %TOC values (between % 0.07 and 0.24); however, dark colored
mudstones facies are concentrated by transition to the Cincevat formation is high (between%
0.67 and 6.14). Although values of Tmax and HI are 420-457 0C and 26-667, respectively, GP
values are generally low. The Tuzluca formation (Upper Miocene) is composed of mostly halite
and gypsum with intercalated variable thickness of dark colored mudstones (20-150 cm). The
%TOC and GP values for mudstones of the Tuzluca formation are low (between % 0.09 and 0.39,
and 120-1510 ppm), and HI-OI and HI-Tmax diagrams show that the unit comprises dominantly
lacustrine material and within immature zone. According to organic geochemical data, the
Halıkışlak and Tuzluca formations seems to have no hydrocarbon potential. The Turabi formation
would more detailed study in well data.
