Italian products at competitive prices.
Thank you for your interest in Tuscan Imports, Inc. For years, we
Terra cotta from Impruneta, Italy is simply the best terra cotta
in the world. It is known not only for its beauty, but also for its
incredible durability in all climates. While clay from this region in
Tuscany is used in all the local workshops, not all terra cotta from
Impruneta is the same. A handful of artisans are known for their
unparalleled craftsmanship and their love and appreciation for their
trade. They take tremendous pride in the quality and originality of
every item they produce. They are known as the trendsetters. And,
unfortunately, they are a dying breed. Few, very few, fit this description.
Tuscan Imports, inc. is working with one of the premiere workshops in Impruneta. We refuse to settle
for mediocrity. We pay attention to detail because we know our customers pay attention to detail. Our
customers can be confident that when they purchase from Tuscan Imports they are buying the best products
available – which is evidenced by a lifetime guarantee against frost.
Please enjoy browsing through our catalog. We carry many classic designs which are as essential to the
Tuscan landscape as the olive tree or the grape vine. In addition, we also carry many pieces made exclusively
for Tuscan Imports that demonstrate the continuing creative abilities of the true artisan. If you do not find
an item for which you are looking, know that the artisans with whom we work are the best in the business
at custom work.
We look forward to hearing from you,
Impruneta
Collection
The world’s finest clay comes from Impruneta, a small village nestled in the Tuscan hills a few kilometers from Florence,
Italy. Blessed with land that is naturally high in iron, copper, calcium and aluminum, the town has been well known for
its exceptional quality terra cotta (cooked earth) and craftsmanship for centuries. Hard gray earth is
mined from the surrounding hills, ground to a powder, and mixed with water to make this coarse bodied
clay. It develops its reknown pale, pink color after the firing process and is able to endure even the
coldest climates without flaking or crumbling. This, along with the hand of a skilled artisan, makes the
Impruneta collection the absolute best available.

Siena
Collection
The province of Siena is dotted with countless workshops because of its abundance of quality clay.
Although not as high in iron as clay from Impruneta, clay from Siena is known throughout the world
as quality terra cotta that can withstand temperatures to 10° Fahrenheit. A more refined clay, it is
smoother in texture and great for Southern climates, indoor use, or in Northern climates if sheltered
during times when temperatures drop below 10°.
