It can be seen from this trace, that the Na2CO3 powder used in this study was phase pure,<br />

resulting in a match to JCPDS card number 77-2082: Na2CO3, monoclinic, space group<br />

C2/m. Table (5.3) shows the ten most intense peaks with corresponding 2θ (observed and<br />

theoretical) and Miller indices.<br />

Fig. (5.6) shows an XRD trace of the 99.995% ZnF2 sourced from Alfa Aesar [4]. It can<br />

be seen from this trace, that the ZnF2 powder used in this study was not phase pure,<br />

resulting in a matches to JCPDS card numbers - 74-1816: Zn(OH)F, orthorhombic, and<br />

JCPDS card number 07-0214: ZnF2, tetragonal, space group P42/mnm. Table (5.4) shows<br />

the ten most intense peaks with corresponding 2θ (observed and theoretical), phases and<br />

Miller indices.
