Yao King (T. 186); Fang Kouang Ta Tchouang Yen King (T. 187); Fo Pen Hing Tsi King (T. 190): Buddhacarita.<br />

Fo So Hing Tsan (T. 192), the translation of Buddhacaritakavya Sutta, is referred to in abbreviated form as Buddhacarita. The author<br />

was Asvaghosa. The Buddhacarita was translated in 1893 by E. B. Cowell and was printed in Volume XLVI of The Sacred Books of the<br />

East. Fo So Hing Tsan was also translated into English by S. Beal under the name The Romantic Legend of Sakya Buddha, published in<br />

London in 1875.<br />

In the Southern Tradition, Queen Mahamaya’s dream of being pregnant and the birth of Siddhartha are recorded in M. 123, as well as<br />

D. 14. The visit of the hermit Asita is recounted in Sn. III, 11.
