ARKADI M. RYWLIN, M.D.
his mentor and teacher, the late Professor Arkadi M. Rywlin (1923–1987). Professor Rywlin was born in the free
city of Danzig and completed his medical training at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He immigrated to
the United States in 1953 and served as the Director of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Mount Sinai
Medical Center of Greater Miami and as Professor of Pathology at the University of Miami School of Medicine
until his untimely death in 1987.
international recognition with the publication of his textbook on Histopathology of the Bone Marrow (Little, Brown & Co.,
