Left-luggage lockers
Safe, easy and where you need them: our lockers. If you want to lighten
your load when you are shopping, why not make use of our practical leftluggage
lockers at “Hauptwache” station. Each locker costs at present
2.00 euro for up to 24 hours. You can find our lockers at “Hauptwache”
station on the level B next to the following escalators:
Up-escalator to the Zeil (near Kaufhof department store)
Down-escalator to Lines U1/U2/U3 near the
Allianz-Passage/Struwwelpeter-Apotheke
Pictograms above the escalators point to the lockers. You can use the
lockers any time the underground railway and the suburban railway
(S-Bahn) is running.
Taxi
Get taken right up to your own front door by bus, rail and taxi. If you
would like to be picked up by taxi at your station, tell the train staff when
you get on board. We shall be glad to order you one.
Choose your disembarkation point
Traffic conditions permitting, you can get off any VGF bus service between
stops from 8.00 p.m. (excluding the immediate inner city area). When
boarding the bus, please inform the driver of your desired disembarkation
point. If it’s not possible to stop at the desired location, you will be offered
an alternative disembarkation point.
Take your bike along
Your travel ticket entitles you to take a bike with you on all VGF underground
trains, trams and buses at no extra charge, at following times:
Monday to Friday: before 6.00 a.m.,
from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.,
from 6.30 p.m. until services end.
All day Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays and during school holidays
in Hesse. If it gets too crowded, the tram conductor will decide,
whether a bike will be allowed.
Ebbelwei-Expreß
A really comfortable, traditional way of experiencing Frankfurt is to take a city tour
on the Ebbelwei-Expreß. The route of this historic tram car will take you past many
of Frankfurt’s tourist attractions. Enjoy the leisurely pace of a bygone era, the genial
atmosphere, the sights of Frankfurt and a glass of traditional Frankfurt apple wine,
apple juice or mineral water.
This original travelling experience runs punctually to a timetable on Saturdays,
Sundays and public holidays: on these days you can get on or off at Ebbelwei-
Expreß stops (e.g. at Römer or the Zoo) whenever you like. The adult fare for this
fun mode of transport is euro 6.00 for one trip. Children and young people (4 – 14
years of age) pay euro 3.00. In addition to the enjoyment of experiencing this mode
of transport, either a bottle of apple wine, apple juice or mineral water and a bag of
savoury biscuits are included in the fare. Simply buy your ticket from the conductor.
The complete round trip lasts approximately an hour. Seat reservations are unfortunately
not possible.
You can also hire the Ebbelwei-Expreß exclusively for your own use, e.g. for birthdays,
weddings, club outings, office parties. The Ebbelwei-Expreß will turn your celebration
into an unforgettable experience. You can plan your route according to your
own requirements and the options at our disposal, arrange your own refreshments,
hire musicians to play on board, hire a tour guide or simply make use of our friendly
advice service: just tell us what you want and we’ll arrange it or pass your requirements
on to the appropriate quarters.

Passenger care agent
Our passenger agents, based at the Hauptwache,
Konstablerwache and the information gazebo at the
main station, are there to answer your questions.
They can also provide assistance and information
about changes to the transportation network or fares
and help you find your way around the local area.
Naturally you can also inform passenger care agents
of problems and operational failures (escalators,
ticket machines etc.). They will deal with the matter
immediately and provide you with direct assistance.

Tickets – short and crisp
Single ticket
Single tickets are available for single journeys
undertaken immediately after
purchase. Return journeys, round trips and
stop-overs are not permitted. If you have
to change services, please take the first
available connection.
Short hop ticket – 2000 m
The cheapest way to travel for short journeys.
Information on short hop destinations
is available at all stops. On each ticket
machine there is a list of the short hop
destinations within reach.
Special conditions:
Single tickets are cheaper in Frankfurt
during off-peak periods (i.e. before
6.00 a.m., from 9.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.
and after 6.30 p.m. on weekdays and
all-day on Saturdays, Sundays and
public holidays in Hesse, as well on
24.12. and 31.12.).
Tip: Money savers!
Daily travel ticket
It’s best to choose a daily travel ticket
if you are intending to make at least
three journeys within the city limits.
These travel tickets for one person
are valid only on the day of purchase
for unlimited travel within the
specified zones.
Daily group travel ticket
With a daily group travel ticket, up to
5 people (adults and children) can
make as many trips as they like
(within the specified zones), on the
day of validation.
The price of the RMV Price category 4
must be paid for single, daily or group
travel tickets to the Airport, which is
outside the Frankfurt fare zone.
Hessenticket
For just euro 30 throughout Hesse. With the
“Hessenticket”, up to 5 people can travel as
much and as often as they want: Monday to
Friday from 9.00 a.m. until the last bus,
tram or train. And the whole day on Saturdays,
Sundays and public holidays in Hesse.
Weekly, monthly or annual
season tickets
The advantages of our attractive and convenient
range of season tickets for you:
Unlimited travel, you can make as many
return journeys, round trips you like
Non-personal weekly, monthly and annual
travel tickets are transferable.
Special features
Season tickets for adults also entitle the
holder to travel together with an adult
and his/her own children (up to 14 years
of age) or 3 children (up to 14 years of
age) on weekdays after 7.00 p.m. and all
day on weekends and public holidays, on
Dec. 24 and 31 at no extra cost.
Weekly, monthly and annual season
tickets, valid for Frankfurt am Main
(fare zone 50) also include travel to
and from the airport
The 9-a.m.-ticket. Travel smartly and
save up to 25 % (depending on chosen
price level) with monthly and annual
season tickets for rides from 9 a.m. – a
ticket offering you the same advantages
as regular monthly and annual season
tickets.
There is an additional advantage to
purchasing the annual season ticket:
12 months of travel for the cost
of only 10.

Fare zone
Fare zones in the RMV area
Frankfurt has been allocated its own fare
zone within the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund
and this is indicated by the number 50. In
principle, the cost of a bus or train journey
within the RMV depends on the number of
fare zones involved in the journey but passenger
age, ticket validity and time of travel
are also relevant (see table “fares”).

machines as follows:

destination in the List of
destinations 2
2. Enter the Destination Code
to be found to the left of the
name of the destination using
the ten-key field 8 at the
bottom of the screen and then
press to select the kind of
ticket you want – “Supplementary
ticket to your
period ticket” (Adult or Child)

3. Should it be possible to reach
your chosen destination by more
than one route, then a query
regarding the route you wish to
take will appear on the screen
