May 7, 1980, providing for the conveyance to <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> title to the followingdescribed<br />

property, viz:<br />

A forty (4) acre tract <strong>of</strong> land in the Northeast (NE) comer <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Northwest Quarter (NW %) <strong>of</strong> Section Twenty-two (22), Township<br />

Eleven (11) North, Range Three (3) West <strong>of</strong> the Fourth (4th) Principal<br />

Meridian, Warren County, <strong>Illinois</strong>, described as follows: beginning<br />

at a point on the East line <strong>of</strong> said Northwest Quarter (NW W) <strong>of</strong> Section<br />

Twenty-two (22), 1,332 Feet North <strong>of</strong> the Southeast comer <strong>of</strong> said Northwest<br />

Quarter (NW %) <strong>of</strong> Section Twenty-two (22) ; thence North 1,320<br />

feet along said East line to the Northeast corner <strong>of</strong> said Northwest Quarter<br />

(NW 1/4) <strong>of</strong> Section Twenty-two (22) ; thence North 88” 59‘ West, 1,320.2<br />

feet along the North line <strong>of</strong> said Northwest Quarter (NW %) <strong>of</strong> Section<br />

Twenty-two (22); thence South 1,320 feet; thence South 88’ 59‘ East,<br />

1,320.2 feet to the point <strong>of</strong> beginning and containing 40.00 acres, more or<br />

less, subject to the use by the public for highway purposes <strong>of</strong> that part<br />

along the North side there<strong>of</strong>,<br />

which property is hereinafter referred to as “Greenstreet Land,” for the purchase<br />

price <strong>of</strong> one hundred sixty thousand dollars ($lSO,OOO.OO).<br />

Now, <strong>The</strong>refore, Be It, and It Hereby IF, Resolved, by the <strong>Board</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Trustees</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Illinois</strong>, a public corporation <strong>of</strong> the State <strong>of</strong> <strong>Illinois</strong>, that the<br />

actions <strong>of</strong> the Comptroller and Secretary <strong>of</strong> this <strong>University</strong> and the contract<br />

entered into under date <strong>of</strong> May 7, 1980, for the acquisition <strong>of</strong> the Greenstreet Land<br />

from Sellers, a copy <strong>of</strong> which contract is on file with the Secretary <strong>of</strong> this Univer-<br />

sity, be and hereby are approved, ratified and confirmed.<br />

Resolution Authorizing Acquisition <strong>of</strong> 120-Acre Melton Farm,<br />

Warren County, <strong>Illinois</strong>, as Part <strong>of</strong> the Site for the<br />

Western <strong>Illinois</strong> Agricultural Research Center<br />

Whereas, pursuant to authorization <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong> <strong>Board</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Trustees</strong> <strong>of</strong> the Uni-<br />

versity <strong>of</strong> <strong>Illinois</strong>, a public corporation <strong>of</strong> the State <strong>of</strong> <strong>Illinois</strong>, with its principal<br />

<strong>of</strong>fire in the City <strong>of</strong> Urbana, in the County <strong>of</strong> Champaign and State <strong>of</strong> <strong>Illinois</strong>,<br />

hereinafter referred to as “<strong>University</strong>,” given at its meeting on March 20, 1980,<br />

the Comptroller and Secretary <strong>of</strong> this <strong>University</strong> have entered into an agreement on<br />

behalf <strong>of</strong> and in the name <strong>of</strong> this <strong>University</strong> with James 0. Melton and JoAnn R<br />

Melton, his wife, <strong>of</strong> 105 Jefferson Street, Burlington, Iowa, hereinafter referred to<br />

as “Sellers,” under date <strong>of</strong> May 17, 1980, providing for the conveyance to Univer-<br />

sity <strong>of</strong> title to the following described property, viz:<br />

<strong>The</strong> Northwest Quarter (NW %) <strong>of</strong> Section Twenty-two (22), in Town-<br />

ship Eleven (11) North, Range Three (3) West <strong>of</strong> the Fourth (4th)<br />

Principal Meridian, Warren County, <strong>Illinois</strong>, excepting therefrom Forty<br />

(40) acres in the Northeast (NE) corner <strong>of</strong> the Northwest Quarter (NW<br />

%) <strong>of</strong> Scction Twenty-two (22), Township Eleven (11) North, Range<br />

Threc (3) West <strong>of</strong> the Fourth (4th) Principal Meridian, Warren County.<br />

<strong>Illinois</strong>, described as follows: beginning at a point on the East line <strong>of</strong> said<br />

Northwest Quarter (NW Vi) <strong>of</strong> Section Twenty-two (22), 1,332 Fect<br />

North <strong>of</strong> the Southeast corner <strong>of</strong> said Northwest Quarter (NW ?4) <strong>of</strong><br />

Section Twenty-two (22); thence North 1,320 feet along said East line<br />

to the Northeast comer <strong>of</strong> said Northwest Quarter (NW 54) <strong>of</strong> Section<br />

North line <strong>of</strong> said Northwest Quarter (NW X) <strong>of</strong> Section Twenty-two<br />

(22) ; thence South 1,320 feet; thence South 88” 59’ East, 1,320.2 feet to<br />

the point <strong>of</strong> beginning and containing 40.00 acres, more or less, subject to<br />

the use by the public for highway purposes <strong>of</strong> that part along the North<br />

side there<strong>of</strong>,
