Designation of University Officers for Facility Security Clearance (29) Officials of United States governmental agencies have requested the Board of Trustees to designate by formal action the trustees and officers of the board 'The University has an option to extend the lease for an additional one-year period at an nnnlul rental of $22,500.
26 BOARD OF TRUSTEES Duly 19 who do not require access to classified information and who therefore shall not have the authority and responsibility for negotiation, execution, and administration of contracts with the United States of America and its agencies and all of the duties and responsibilities pertaining to the protection of classified information. The fol- lowing resolution is offered in the form requested by the agencies, and its adoption is recommended. Resolution Whereas, it has been brought to the attention of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois with its principal office and place of business in the City of Urbana, State of Illinois, that in connection with a Facility Security Clearance, the Chief Executive Officer, and those other officers or officials who are specifically and properly designated by action of the Board of Trustees in accordance with the In- stitution’s requirements as the managerial group having authority and responsibility for the negotiation, execution, and administration of User Agency contracts and delegated all of the duties and responsibilities of the Board of Trustees pertaining to the protection of classified information are required to be cleared by the Depart- ment of Defense; and Where@, if because of this delegation the board will not be in a position to affect adversely the performance of classified contracts, other officers or trustees who shall not require access to classified information in the ccnduct of the University’s busi- ness and who do not occupy positions that would enable them to affect the Univer- sity’s policies or practices in the performance of classified contracts, are not re- quired to be cleared, provided the Board of Trustees by formal action affirms and makes a matter of record in the organization’s minutes of that executive body, that Resolved: The following named officers, officials, and trustees shall not require, shall not have, and can be effectively excluded from, access to all classified infor- mation in the possession of the University and do not occupy positions that would enable them to affect adversely the University’s policies or practices in the per- formance of classified contracts or programs for the User Agencies: Name Title Citizenshig Thompson, James R.
