Access Road from Parking Lot P Southeast<br />

to SE End <strong>of</strong> Hangar #3 at Willard Airport/<br />

Site Improvement<br />

Construction is anticipated in FY 1979 <strong>of</strong><br />

an access road from Parking Lot P south-<br />

east to the southeast end <strong>of</strong> Hanger #3 at<br />

the <strong>University</strong>’s Willard Airport. <strong>The</strong> road<br />

will be 700 feet long and 24 feet wide. <strong>The</strong><br />

project will include a parking lot for 25<br />

spaces, drainage, grading, seeding, signing,<br />

and necessary pertinences. <strong>The</strong> surface <strong>of</strong><br />

the road and parking lot will initially be<br />

gravel and after sufficient settling has oc-<br />

curred. an oil and chip surface will be ap-<br />

plied. <strong>The</strong> project’s estimated cost <strong>of</strong> $1 1,-<br />

500 is to be funded from airport revenue.<br />

Contract for Installation <strong>of</strong> Supervisory Control System,<br />

Chicago Circle Center<br />

(20) <strong>The</strong> president <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong>, with the concurrence <strong>of</strong> appropriate ad-<br />

ministrative <strong>of</strong>ficers, recommends award <strong>of</strong> a contract for $156,930 to Hiram<br />

Electrical Contractors, Inc., Chicago. <strong>The</strong> firm is the low bidder on the base bid,<br />

plus acceptance <strong>of</strong> deductive alternates No. 1 and No. 2, to furnish all labor,<br />

materials, and services to install the second phase <strong>of</strong> a supervisory control system<br />

for mechanical equipment at the Chicago Circle Center, Chicago Circle campus.<br />

<strong>The</strong> low bid is within the estimates developed by the Physical Plant Depart-<br />

ment. Acceptance <strong>of</strong> deductive alternates No. 1 and No. 2 (to delete mechanical<br />

fan system controls in two areas) was necessary to bring the cost within the funds<br />

available.<br />

Funds for this work are available from the operations and maintenance line<br />

<strong>of</strong> the FY 1978-79 operating budgpt <strong>of</strong> the Ch;cago Circle Center. It is estimated<br />

that the work will be completed by September 1979.<br />

<strong>The</strong> student advisory vote was: Aye, Miss Kooper, Mr. Sobotka, Mr.<br />

Watson; no, none.<br />

On motion <strong>of</strong> Mr. Livingston, this contract was awarded by the fol-<br />

lowing vote: Aye, Mr. Forsyth, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Howard, Mr. Lenz, Mr.<br />

Livingston, Mr. Neal, Mrs. Rader, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Velasquez; no,<br />

none; absent, Governor Thompson.<br />

(21) <strong>The</strong> president <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong>, with the concurrence <strong>of</strong> appropriate ad-<br />

ministrative <strong>of</strong>ficers, recommends award nf the following contracts for construc-<br />

tion <strong>of</strong> the Single Student Residence at the Medical Center campus. <strong>The</strong> award
