appropriations <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Commerce and related agencies <strong>for</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> fiscal year ending June 30, 1957, and <strong>for</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r purposes. [Formal ap.<br />

proval <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> construction <strong>of</strong> a new <strong>Bureau</strong> plant at Gai<strong>the</strong>rsburg.]<br />

Be it enacted . . . That <strong>the</strong> following sums are appropriated . . . <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Depart.<br />

ment <strong>of</strong> Commerce . . . namely:<br />

Title I—Department <strong>of</strong> Commerce<br />

<strong>National</strong> <strong>Bureau</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Standards</strong><br />

Construction <strong>of</strong> facilities: For acquisition <strong>of</strong> necessary land and to initiate <strong>the</strong><br />

design <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> facilities to be constructed <strong>the</strong>reon <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>National</strong> <strong>Bureau</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Standards</strong><br />

outside <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> District <strong>of</strong> Columbia to remain available until expended, $930,000, to<br />

be transferred to <strong>the</strong> General Services Administration.
