ALEXANDER SENDEGEYA 2013 KEY FACTS Date of Birth: 27/06/1996 Place of Birth: Liverpool Plays: Right-handed Height: 1.78m Lives: Florida, USA CAREER: • Alexander Senegeya enjoyed a good start to his junior career, reaching the semi-final of his fourth competition in October 2010 at the ITF Waco in October 2010 • His first doubles success came at the start of the 2011 season, when he claimed the title with Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka in Guatemala. • He came close to winning his first singles title in June 2012, losing in the final of the Ukzakhid ITF. So far it is the closest he has come to winning a singles crown. 2012-13 • Sendegeya claimed his most recent doubles title in February 2013, his third competition of the new year, in Tunisia • He also reached the semi-final of the same competition, where he lost to Maxime Janvier PERSONAL: Father (Steven) and Mother (Christina), brother (Marios) also plays tennis. Alexander started to play tennis at 3½ years old. Aim is to finish 2013 inside the junior Top 20 in the world. Sendegeya is an avid fan of NBA side Miami Heat. ALEXANDER SLABINSKY 2013 CAREER: • Alex started playing in ITF events in 2005 but first hit the headlines when he defeated world No.59 Gilles Muller at 2008 Queens ATP qualifying event. • He won his first ITF singles title in Nigeria in 2007. • He also qualified for the 2009 Championships, Wimbledon main draw in the doubles with Chris Eaton. 2012-13 • Alex has continued to play in Futures and Challengers events and won two singles titles in 2012 – in Felixstowe and Enschede, Netherlands. • He also secured the doubles in Balaguer, Spain with coach Ferran Ventura-Martell in May 2013. PERSONAL: Alex started playing tennis aged eight in Ukraine and moved to Britain aged ten. He enjoys other sports such as football and swimming. He also likes to relax by watching movies and listening to music.
