JUNE 2012<br />
British No.1 Andy Murray reached the quarter<br />
finals at Roland Garros missing out against<br />
the clay court expertise of David Ferrer. Kyle<br />
Edmund was a quarter-finalist in the Boy’s<br />
singles event.<br />
On the wheelchair tennis court British No.1<br />
Lucy Shuker won the ITF Series 1, Daegu<br />
Open while Gordon Reid was a finalist at the<br />
Korea Open.<br />
Anne Keothavong was a semifinalist at<br />
the Aegon Trophy in Nottingham, while<br />
defending champion Elena Baltacha reached<br />
the quarter finals.<br />
Dominic Inglot won the Men’s doubles<br />
title with partner Treat Huey with a narrow<br />
win over Jonny Marray and Danish partner<br />
Freddie Nielsen.<br />
Ross Hutchins and Colin Fleming won the<br />
Aegon International title by defeating Jamie<br />
Delgado and Ken Skupski 6-4, 6-3 in an all-<br />
British final.<br />
Heather Watson became the first British<br />
woman to reach the third round at<br />
Wimbledon since 2002. The 20 year-old<br />
scored two straight sets wins before falling to<br />
second seed Agnieszka Radwanska.<br />
Fourth seed Andy Murray won a dramatic<br />
third round match against Marcos Baghdatis<br />
on middle Saturday at SW19 finishing at<br />
11.02pm for the latest ever finish at The<br />
Championships.<br />
JULY 2012<br />
Jonny Marray became the first British man to<br />
win the Wimbledon Men’s doubles title since<br />
1936 as he and partner Freddie Nielsen won<br />
a thrilling final against Robert Lindstedt and<br />
Horia Tecau 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-7(5), 6-3.<br />
A day later British No.1 Andy Murray became<br />
the first British man to play in the Men’s<br />
singles final for 74 years as he pushed sixtime<br />
champion Roger Federer to four sets on<br />
Centre Court before the Swiss player won 4-6,<br />
7-5, 6-3, 6-4.<br />
Lucy Shuker and Jordanne Whiley became<br />
the first all-British pair to reach the<br />
Wheelchair Ladies Doubles final with 2011<br />
finalists Jiske Griffioen and Aniek van Koot<br />
defeating the British pair 6-1, 6-2 in the final.<br />
Ross Hutchins and Colin Fleming reached<br />
the ATP final at the Campbell’s Hall of Fame<br />
