JAMIE MURRAY 2013
CAREER:
• Jamie is one of GB’s top doubles players having won eight ATP Tour titles. His most
memorable win came when he won the mixed doubles at Wimbledon in 2007, becoming the
first Briton for 20 years to win a senior title at The Championships as he and partner Jelena
Jankovic beat fifth seeds Jonas Bjorkman and Alicia Molik 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 on Centre Court.
• He captured his first ATP doubles title in San Jose in February 2007 (ironically the same site
a year after Andy won his first singles title). This was followed by titles in Memphis (2007),
Nottingham (2007) and Delray Beach (2008).
• In October in 2010, Jamie teamed up with younger brother Andy to win the Valencia Open
500, just a week after he got married. Two further titles followed in 2011 in Metz and then
Tokyo.
• Jamie made his Davis Cup debut for GB in 2007 and has since played six ties, most recently
against Luxembourg in July 2011.
2012-13
• Form dipped in 2012, won back to back matches at Tour-level only twice: at Montpellier in
Feb (reaching the final w/Hanley) and again at Vienna (reaching SF w/Sa) in October; played
a few Challengers at the end of the year in Geneva, Loughborough and Helsinki.
• Partnering his brother Andy at the Olympic Games they fell in 1st round to Melzer/Peya 57
76 75 after being twice two points from winning in the TB and twice a break up at 2-1 and
4-3 in the decider.
